  3. Not a public company but still a loss to Orlando. http://www.orlandosentinel.com/business/brinkmann-on-business/os-cfb-brinkmann-hard-rock-20180302-story.html
  4. Regardless of the argumentative nature this thread has become, one thing for sure on a per capita basis Orlando should have way more Fortune 500 & 1000 to match it’s population. It’s median income is below the national average and it’s GMP-Gross Metro Production per capita is lower then the national average. http://www.orlandosentinel.com/business/brinkmann-on-business/os-cfb-brinkmann-hard-rock-20180302-story.html
  5. One of reason for banks moving to Charlotte, was because NC had Interstate Banking Laws that allowed them to expand over state lines, as well as the repeal of Glass Steagall laws which allowed banks to get into trading, insurance and other lines of business and lead to a record number of acquisitions in the banking industry. BOA bought Nations Bank which bought Barnett Bank.

  7. I created a thread a while back on Orlando’s Metro largest publicly traded companies and currently 6 have revenues over 1 billion. Most of them are timeshare which Orlando is the Wall Street of Time Shares, SEAS-sea world parent who has been declining for years, Tupperware which Is not growing, and finally Darden. The other ones mentioned above are subsidiaries of other companies or private companies like Adventist.
  8. WWE would be a good candidate to relocate to Orlando since a lot of it’s operations are already here. Not a big company @800 million but would be a good addition.
  9. Orlando only has one Fortune 500 Company Darden
  10. Wow, fighting over high rise development. How about we all enjoy what is being developed and remember the market dictate what gets built. I don’t live in Orlando but have ties to the area. Enjoy and be glad a nice 300+ foot building with an integrated Sunrail stop. Wyndham is splitting timeshare and business and relocated HQ here based on latest Revenues which was @4.4 billion, not quite Fortune 500 but definitely a Fortune 1000 Company once split is finalized in 2018. http://www.orlandosentinel.com/business/brinkmann-on-business/os-bz-wyndham-timeshare-orlando-20170803-story.html
  11. I started a thread in here about Orlando Largest Publicly Traded companies and their are few and far between. Only 1 company made it on the Fortune 500 Darden and they are based in the suburbs. I am Reality is dead right about the lack of corporations. The 2nd largest is Tupperware which is not even a fortune 1000 and they are HQ in burbs as well. Name me some publicly based Orlando based companies?
