  1. Is something being built in the parking lot at Gregg and Futrall? There are a lot of survey stakes and what appears to be a construction office. I don't recall seeing anything about it but may have just missed it.
  2. Great service. Thanks! Excellent! I thought it looked very close.
  3. Thanks. Interesting. The ward map appears to be screwed up. My house is in Ward 4 and is clearly in 2 on their map.
  4. Link isn't working. Do you have another option?
  5. An exit there would be incredibly good for the entire mall area. Rules be damned, this needs to happen. It would do for southbound traffic what has been done with the flyover. And even northbound from west Fayetteville.
  6. Looks like Springdale is going to get a Sam's after all. In the same area originally proposed before changing to Fayetteville. http://www.nwaonline.com/news/2014/aug/01/sams-club-open-springdale-location/ Wow. Very interesting. That will not be good for the store next to the old Valero station.
  7. Some west Springdale notes. Not sure if useful at all. Eye doctor next to Harp's in Tontitown has a sign posted that they will be moving to the new WM SC on Elm Springs Rd starting 8/13. Not sure of the accuracy but it would seem logical that the store would be open by then??? The Popeye's next to the Pilot near 49/412 has the sign on the building and signs for hiring. Looks to be a few weeks from opening at the worst. The property of the old Mary Maestri's is being cleared and prepared for building. My uneducated guess is it will be a strip mall or similar being built by Brett Hash. I have no inside information but it seems logical. I wish it was a Neighborhood Market or Walgreen's. Across the street in an old tire and auto place is now something called Naviyan, which appears to be some sort of home interior store but doesn't look to be open all the time. Google has failed me on this. I have no idea what it is but they've done a lot of work.
  8. Thanks. Wasn't aware. I assumed something would change because it's not reasonable for high traffic. Ah! Lived here since 85 and never knew what the problem was with the dip there on 540/49. I've always been baffled they haven't been able to create a level surface.
  9. Not sure if this belongs here or the I-49 thread but ... The new Don Tyson interchange is great but can someone explain why they did the on/off ramps the way they did with left turns required from several directions? For example, if you are coming from the north to Arvest Ballpark you have to go through a stop SIGN to turn left. Not even a light there (yet?). At least there is a light on the east side of 49. I assume there is a logical or logistical answer to this but it seems like a huge waste to have 49 tied up and not do this interchange properly. Also, while they were at it they should've extended the 412 offramp (northbound at least) down the road a bit.
  10. Great. Thank you. Was hoping you would see my post. Appreciate it, as always.
  11. I thought I had seen something on this but can't find it now. Anyone know what is going in just west of the Pilot on 412/49? It's directly in front of a vet clinic and looks like a fast food place. Also, 412/112 old Valero station had appeared sold but a new for sale sign is up. Anyone know anything?
  12. Marinoni / Capstone project is cancelled. I got this in email with no privacy disclaimer so I hope it's okay to post. Delete if necessary. ... FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: The Marinoni family and Capstone Properties have terminated the contract for the proposed development on our property. Ultimately we were not able to come to agreement on who was paying for all the extra costs imposed on the project. The family will be bringing forward a request to the City to drop connections that would funnel traffic thru the neighborhood to the east, as is proposed in the Master Street Plan. We hope the neighbors will join us in that effort. We will look to come to an agreement with the City of Fayetteville and the neighbors to the east regarding connectivity and access prior to the next proposal for development. Sincerely, Mary Sue Shaw For the Marinoni Family
  13. I've only been there about 8 months and don't know the history. Sidewalks are currently being built on Sang and Halsell and one is planned for Thomas. Those are the only ones I know of but there may be more planned. A neighbor told me that years ago people were against building sidewalks in that neighborhood so they didn't get built. The tune is much different now and that's a good thing, IMO.
  14. It's going right through the WM ISD parking lot. Temperature controlled tunnels under the road for employees. I can't imagine what a cluster it's going to be. It's already been a mess there due to them adding another floor to the main building.
  15. Fair enough. I had not read that. I'm on a neighborhood email list. This topic, as you can imagine, has been beaten to death. Unruly kids has not been in those conversations, at least none that I recall. It's all been traffic related. That's where my opinion is from. I will say that the neighborhood in general doesn't like the student renters in the neighborhood, so that opinion from the article doesn't surprise me. I have students next door on one side and several across the street. With one exception where some fireworks were shot off after a football game, I've had no trouble with them at all. For my own sake I hope this property doesn't get built. The neighborhood has a lot of seasoned, grouchy people, but I'm in agreement with them about the likely increased traffic. It's already dangerous enough and will only get worse. On a separate note, I heard the fraternity house on Markham/Thomas is going to be razed due to structural issues and won't be rebuilt. Probably another parking lot will be put there lot 73 will be expanded. Anyone else hear about this?
  16. The opposition is primarily due to the increased traffic through the residential neighborhoods between Sang and Razorback Rd. The infrastructure is not built for the increase this property will bring and anyone with sense knows that students are going to flood those streets instead of taking Wedington to Garland. I will add that my house is in the affected area and I have heard from many (>10) of my neighbors. Not a single one has mentioned unruly behavior as a reason for the opposition. It's a traffic and safety issue. You can't walk on most of those streets right now without risking your life and it will become unbearable if this happens.
  17. Required by 2018 if this goes through. http://www.usatoday.com/story/money/cars/2014/03/31/nhtsa-rear-view-cameras/7114531/
  18. No doubt. Figured I might as well start using it.
  19. Casey's at 49 and Wedington opened today. Perfect location. I bet it will do extremely well.
  20. Ha ha. It was a joke as you seem to hate strip malls
  21. I can't imagine going to the WF for a year or so after it opens. It. Will. Be. A. Cluster. F. I do wish they were building west of 540 but that's a minor nit. Maybe ONF will get a clue and get their prices in line. WF coming here is only a good thing for the city and region. It will be a profit maker. Pei Wei would be awesome. I lived in Dallas for a while and loved PW. Nothing like it exists here that I know of. I don't really care if we get Chuy's or PFC or another big chain in FYV but it wouldn't bother me, either. We have a lot of unique places here. The big gaping hole, IMO, is MLK (south UA) area. There is almost nothing not fast food. That Marinoni area sure would be nice for some solid restaurants.
  22. These may have been mentioned but I don't recall seeing them. Two developments I have questions about. Really just wondering what they are. 1) corner of Nettleship and Eastern. Looks to be a good size multi-unit housing development. At least I can see left when turning on to Nettleship with all the brush gone. 2) corner of Sang and Halsell. Some serious clearing going on here. I assume it's an individual house but I guess it's possible to be an apartment. Anyone know?
