  1. It's okay. Turd or not, this concept was done so fast we really didn't have time to develop any of the design. We took a lot of inspiration from a project in the U.K. located on Shoreham Street. We showed this project at the first meeting but the classical architecture buffs in the room completely exploded and it backfired on us. For what it's worth, we felt like it was a great example of how a historic building could be modernized and the addition piece on top be juxtaposed to the historic grounding. Kind of a metaphor for this redevelopment district in a way.
  2. We were very encouraged that there were several "no's" in the room when we started and at the end of the night they turned into "yes's". It sounds like every business owner immediately around the site is now in favor of this concept? ( I might need to do some one on one conversations to confirm that) but we got a really nice call from the Eastside Smiles owner across the street and they love the idea that we are proposing. At the end of the night, the 5 spot guys were lobbying the angry(and very rude) neighbors who live 6-8 blocks down to get on board with the idea. WW is posting these pictures today so here they are. As of right now, the project will be reconsidered with the design team and we will go back to the drawing board to design a 3-story option that encompasses the site.
  3. LOL. We are required to by the overlays to provide bike racks. Thank you. On tonight's meeting presentation at East Library at 6PM, the chances of us convincing "the public" that the 5-story compressed footprint design is better for the neighborhood versus the 3-story spread out footprint version is low. Likely, the 3-story version that consumes most of the site that won't require public input will be the path of least resistance with zoning and historic approvals and likely will be the project that gets built on this site. If any open minded neighbors are willing to have a constructive conversation about the future of the Main Street corridor, we encourage you to please show up tonight. I'll ask the developer to share the 5-story concept after tonight meeting.
  4. Well, it appears as if you guys are some of the lucky few that have now seen the design concept! We are still frantically working away on the final designs for this modern townhome development.Given the recent sales success on Hawkins Street, just a couple blocks away, we feel that this will be well received. I will post an update when I can...
  5. Sorry guys. Images are copyrighted by "rootARCH" and you do not have permission to repost them. These images were leaked by ProGraphics and that has been corrected. When the developer and sales team are ready and we have submitted drawings to Metro, they will publicize the project. Please remove the images of the project. I will post on my Facebook page at www.facebook.com/rootarch when I have permission to.
