  1. I am hoping that a residential development will be included in this project Then hopefully Buddy G. Will add height to his projects on waterfront
  2. Maybe those people who stopped shopping there found better selections elsewhere! Thirty years ago, where else was there for people to go in that area? Also, thirty years ago, Virginia Beach was nothing but suburbs and farm land. She needs to move to pungo if she wants that lifestyle.
  3. I think that this project will have 40k when they open! If ticket sales increase or if the monarchs does well in conference usa, the extra seats will be added for opening day! It would be nice to have an overflow crowd for the grand opening of an 40k seat stadium in 2017. Conference USA is just a prelude to a much bigger conference in the future. East Carolina may have a larger stadium presently; however, the monarchs are on of the fastest growing universities on the east coast and winning at this level will get you noticed nationally!
  4. Does anyone believe that the old Holiday Inn site will be developed in the near future? Hopefully, when the market improves, the waterfront properties will finally get new development to include the city hall property. I really hope that the downtown waterfront will build vertical to compliment the same type developments across the river in downtown Norfolk.
  5. Starting to think the city of Norfolk made a mistake by choosing this project! Town Center is getting a nice office tower that's is actually 1/3 of the way complete while the Waterside project still lies in the negotation stages. Something is not right about the Coordish project and now that the other proposals are off the table, the city will pay more money to these scammers. Burfoot's true character has been reveal in the Bank of the Commonwealth fraud allegations. He definitely steered this project and look at the results. Nothing!
  6. I think that they added a few floors to the tower at the medical hospital. It's good to see some more height on the Portsmouth side of the water.
  7. My three wishes for the downtown waterfront are: 1. Tear down the Dominion Tower parking garage and redevelop the property for a signature tower. This property is stunning when coming out of the downtown tunnel! Can you imagine a fortune 500 tower sitting right on the Elizabeth river? 2. Tear down that short stubby Sharaton Hotel! Does the city really need a hotel eating up all that waterfront space? You could easily fit two much larger towers on that property. 3. Please tear down the fugly parking garage on City Hall ave! That's got to be the most unappealing building downtown right now. I am sure there is space for a tower there where parking can go beneath it. Speaking of parking garages, I believe that one of them was built with intents to build a tower above it. Let's do it! Can anyone think of more development/redevelopment opportunities downtown? How about a tower above the mall, is that possible?
  8. What are the plans for the Greyhound bus terminal? I am hoping that they relocate it near the Amtrak station to create a transportation hub! It would be nice to have a station that is always buzzing with people downtown. Add some retail and mixed use housing to the area to create a big city feel to the area. Perhaps one day, we will have an arena built at Harbor Park with entertainment and activities spanning from Harbor Park all the way to Waterside!
