  1. Construction Update #7.3 + SNOW!!! Ponce City Market: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EGX-CYfSewI Restoration continues. The main tower has finally been cleaned of all the green gunk. The pinnacle looks great! I also noticed part of the construction site has been breached by the public and some are using it as a cut through from Glen Iris to Ponce. Not safe people! 755 North Apartments: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rTH73K-0ayg Crews are up to the 5th floor of the 1st building. The complex backs right up to the Eastside Beltline Trail. On this particular day the trail was PACKED. I saw 100+ people pass me and I was only on the trail 20 mins. ATL needs more trails ASAP AMLI Ponce Park: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_vJFPZnvLbY This is turing out to be an interesting, architecturally speaking, development. The balconies on each of the 5 floors offer a visually appealing break to the continuity of the surrounding buildings. Park front views should be pretty nice. BOHO 4W: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zwL2Kqk144Y It looks like Building 1 is open and already has a few residents. The other buildings are still taking shape. I can confirm that BOHO 4W will also front Glen Iris. Norfolk Southern Train with Skyline night view: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fXTHd13I8S4 If you've ever been to the Amtrak Station, you may have seen this view of the skyline. 2. Construction Update #7.1 Buckhead Atlanta: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lLg5yeQslqc With four cranes and a few hundred workers on site, this development is taking shape nicely. The 2 buildings fronting Peachtree St have taken shape. The two towers are up to the 18th floor. Restoration Hardware: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rbgTVBdSw2g Foundation work has begun on the 6 story flagship store. Broadstone Maple: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NEzI-L7zxQM Work has begun on a 5 floor, 250 unit apartment building on Maple Dr between Peachtree Road and East Paces Ferry in Buckhead. Camden Paces: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wHmQeUYfyk0 The townhouses fronting Andrews have taken shape. The crane is up and the foundations of the 8 story building are ready for the 1st floor. Crescent Terminus: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hQPBb4QE4zY Building one and two have topped out at 5 floors. Building three has created a tunnel over Highland Dr at the intersection with Tower Pl. Pretty cool! Check out all 7 updates on this playlist 3330 Peachtree: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WLGnpR45ehQ Anyone have any updated info on this 10 floor mixed use building? SkyHouse Buckhead: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S8xY-6CozHY An Arborist has marked over 130 trees with an X and a numbered tag. Does this mean we can expect groundbreaking soon? Hopefully! Buckhead MARTA Station: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SNsyzWsUTNA The new northern entrances (NE on Stratford / NW entrance on Tower Pl) are a great addition to the station. Hopefully this will encourage more riders from both sides of 400. The NE entrance is ideally located next to Post Stratford, the Paramount, Mandarin Oriental and future SkyHouse Buckhead. The NW entrance is literally behind Old Navy, Ulta etc, and when riders use this entrance, they will have the sites and smells of garbage bins and delivery trucks and no direct access to the shopping plaza. I HOPE something will be done about this because it could discourage riders from using this entrance. Extend Tower Walk Park and create a back entrance to the Old Navy plaza. Post Alexander Tower: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-1Yes2dxi7Q The crane is up and foundation as work continues. The Metropolitan At Phipps: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ssOsF4u-aFY Modern townhouses taking shape across from Phipps Plaza. Lenox Square Rennovation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MS3OguAmac4 Work is almost done on the entrance facelift. You be the judge. When it's complete, I'll be sure to get some night time shots. As a side note, anyone notice the Lenox Mall Christmas Tree is in the parking lot this year on not on top of the Macy's building. Is this because it fell two years ago? 3380 Peachtree Road Apartments: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3D6UE3MXc68 Dante's is gone. Make way for 10 floors of apartments. Brand Properties Roswell Road: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AQGHLDBZaww Not sure what's going on here but my $'s on apartments. Any info is appreciated Don't forget to show your YouTube love __________________ Atlanta's Finest Freelance Audio/Visual Production Services http://www.immovablemedia.net http://www.youtube.com/user/ImmovableMedia
  3. Midtown AMLI Midtown Apartments: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dcbT7-TRzi8 I haven't been able to find any info on this proposed tower across the street from Arts Center MARTA Station on W. Peachtree St. It's on the map.atlantadev.com/ and I remember reading about it this year but I can't find a source. Little help? 975 Piedmont: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jRQ6uHXQS4Y IMO these townhomes will look out of place. 4 practically on-the-street uber modern units sandwiched inbetween a parking lot and a beautiful house. I wonder how the neighbors feel? 77 12th Street: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EJQyQk-UVFY Even though residence have moved in, none of the retail has. It looks like a Burger Joint and a Mexican Restaurant have taken up signage on the doors but that's about it. If you look in the windows, it's still unfinished with no sign of construction. Why's it taking so long? 33 Peachtree Place: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fy8pT8qCq44 19 floors, 400,000-sqft project would include 350 apartments and 20,000 square feet of retail space. The Castle: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wmn0UGW704s A 12,000-square-foot historic home that overlooks the Woodruff Arts Center, is getting a $3 million renovation — transforming the property on 15th Street into an upscale restaurant and lounge, with a handful of luxury hotel suites Hyatt Atlanta Midtown: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MQFjIhwpI9o The renovation is almost 100% complete. The inside looks really good especially the lounge/bar. Excellent work! The Crum & Forster Building: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XNm2xXsmwYM The back half of the building has been chopped off. It looks like a few pallets of the old bricks are being saved. Here's how it looked before. I asked local APD security what the crews were working on, he said the sidewalks. Peachtree St and 10th St Pocket Park: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fhM52hNFzt8 Badminton anyone? I wonder how long the rackets and birdies make it before they are stolen. They look unused. This pocket park also boasts an acoustic/artist performance space but I don't see it. Interesting park nevertheless Viewpoint Retail: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W3zzxl6O-KY "Loudermilk purchased the retail component at Viewpoint from Novare and has plans to upgrade the facade as well as plans to open up additional space on the 7th street side in hopes of drawing a grocer like Fresh Market or Sprouts Farmer’s Market. Additionally, the space on the 7th street side would be converted into a flexible plaza / parking area." *Source It desperately needs an upgrade! University House: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=__R8_Q1G3KY I can confirm site work is underway on this 17-floor student housing tower. I'm looking forward to this one! SkyHouse South: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5D7rSFn02yg The tower has topped out and so has the parking deck! It looks like Novare changed the crown, and painted the parking deck another color but other than that, it's pretty much cookie cutter SkyHouse Midtown. Georgia Proton Treatment Center: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gK2dTDONX28 Construction is up to the 2nd floor. 131 Ponce de Leon Ave: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lnRvOgqWRP8 Crews are working on the 2nd floor. Unknown Building @ Williams St, 16th & Spring St: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GmhjTDDCyew Unknown Buildings @ Juniper St & 5th St: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X26QXx7P4rw 768 Juniper St: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K6Sm5N9gsQU I ran across these walking between developments and I wanted to capture them before they either got bulldozed or redeveloped. __________________ Atlanta's Finest Freelance Audio/Visual Production Services http://www.immovablemedia.net http://www.youtube.com/user/ImmovableMedia
  4. OFW/Inman Park/East Atlanta 280 Elizabeth: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7z-5Oop_XXw Site grading is currently underway on this 5-floor apartment complex. Located in the heart of Inman Park, this 200-unit development, which in addition to apartments will offer about 39,000 square feet of retail space will also feature a public "water wall" and stripe of green space that connects Elizabeth Street with an existing pond that brims with koi fish. Decatur Street Self-Storage Facility: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OSAczKpuaRI Located at the intersection of Decatur Street and Boulevard, a state-of-the-art, 110,000-square foot facility storage facility is currently under construction. Planned is a five-story, climate-controlled storage building that houses 854 units along with two oversized elevators, a covered loading/unloading area, drive-up exterior units and a conference facility for its renters. A retail storefront will also front Decatur Street and should adhere to the Beltline design principles. Maynard H. Jackson High School: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BSAQxjS0BSw The school's campus in Grant Park is undergoing $45 million renovation to its physical plant, scheduled to be complete by the end of this year. (Jackson students have temporarily been relocated to the Coan Middle School Campus in Kirkwood.) I spoke with a very friendly construction worker who informed me of the following facts: since there are 3+ feet of soil on the roof (complete with walking track which extends into the hill behind the building), a LOT of concrete was used to support this weight the building when it was built in 1982. This made demolition more costly than renovation. 300 Glenwood: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BHAn-IofRZ4 Across the street from Jackson High sits the fenced off lot dubbed "300 Glenwood" to be developed by Fuqua. It's really a massive lot that should be developed wisely. The Beltline runs to the west, new apartments are already up on the east, and to the south, Jackson High will look brilliant once complete. It's very important this lot be developed with the whole neighborhood in mind, not just dumping more big box strip malls. 755 North Apartments: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FDRA56QJ2Go Crews are finally moving on this 5-floor apartment complex. The parking structure is already taking shape. Views from up here will be beautiful. Ponce City Market: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i5pxJ4TAtmw Our diamond in the rough's clean-up is moving nicely! Crews have begun removing the green stains from the tower and most of the facade is intact once again. The windows have almost been completely replaced while the trees fronting Glen Iris are gone. The western parking lot has taken shape and the sidewalk along North Ave is being replaced. Krog Street Market: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=11ruc0zgepI The northern lot has been cleared and is currently being leveled. Windows have been cut out of the brick facade on several sides in effect "opening up" the space. Meanwhile inside crews are putting up the framing of the individual stores/booths. AMLI Ponce Park: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mYSXbc-SMAY Work has begun on the ground floor of the apartment building. I hope they have thick walls because the Mascarade is loud, even during the day. The bass and low tones travels far, I could still hear them from the playground 0.3 miles to the south. BOHO 4W: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Ef7-8_nOhc Both buildings have topped out at 5 floors. Now crews are working on the brick and stone facades. The balconies on this project look large and will have great views all around. Hopefully they won't house the AC units out there (like at every "SkyHouse" in the world). __________________ Atlanta's Finest Freelance Audio/Visual Production Services http://www.immovablemedia.net http://www.youtube.com/user/ImmovableMedia
  5. Capital Parking Deck: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gQyDYY0QtK8 Crews are finishing up the final touches on this brand new deck down the street from the Capital. Notice the rooftop accent, a nice touch that looks great with the facade. Too bad state legislators built themselves this fancy deck while local legislators let Novare build these. However this deck is still my personal favorite. Auburn Pointe: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mOHSgQJ0qHQ Work continues on the next phase of 4-floor apartment rentals. The master plan for this multi-phase, multi-income community includes 300 multi-family rental units, 48 affordable and market priced for-sale homes, 324 independent and assisted-living senior residences. Homewood Suites: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y7YftRmb7oE Atlanta-based Legacy Property Group LLC is planning to build a 129-key Homewood Suites by Hilton. The all-suites hotel would sit along Marietta Street near Centennial Olympic Park in the Luckie-Marietta District. 301 Memorial Drive: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mpSWhVj351s Developers are hoping to bring a five-story project — comprised of apartments, retail, a restaurant and office space — to the lot at 301 Memorial Drive, located between Harden St and Hill St. 94 apartments (studios, 1, and 2 bedrooms), as well as 3,500 square feet of retail, 2,500 square feet for a restaurant and a small amount of office space. Corey Tower: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_DWUp0Pyeok It looks like some sort of mountings for the 80x40 ft billboard has been installed. I'm dying to see what Corey has in store for this smokestack. It's not as iconic as the owners thinks. Even with"Corey" branded across the side, I doubt the average Atlantian driving the connector even noticed this white tower. Lets see what the proposed billboard will do. Hopefully not create too many more distracted driver, we have enough! __________________ Atlanta's Finest Freelance Audio/Visual Production Services http://www.immovablemedia.net http://www.youtube.com/user/ImmovableMedia
  6. The Haynes House: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3deaEVtfMmU A 186-unit luxury apartment community at Peachtree Rd and Peachtree Battle Ave in Buckhead. The project is composed of five residential levels over three parking levels accommodating 268 cars. The community will contain a leasing office and feature a club room, fitness center and two courtyard terraces as well as a pool, cabanas and gardens. A historic house on the property will be converted to a pool house (although it's not currently on site). 7. Construction Update #6.4 Midtown: Perennial Properties Mixed-Used: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D_8R0WF5SWg West Midtown is buzzing. Perennial Properties wants to rezone 2.965 acres of property bounded by 9th Street, 8th Street, Brady Avenue and Howell Mill Road near where The Optimist restaurant currently sits and hopefully deliver a mixed-use development including 230 apartments and 9,000 square feet of restaurant and retail space wrapped around a multilevel parking deck by fall of 2014. 1071 Howell Mill: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UdJKKv2tNfY The property is a development site located across the street from White Provision at the intersection of Howell Mill Rd and Brady Ave. Currently improved with a 34,000 square foot warehouse building the property can either be renovated to provide approximately 12,000 rentable square feet of space or redeveloped for a 75,000 class A office building. I think developers are leaning towards to building the 3-5 floor office building seen in the render. Odyssey Sportsplex: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=25eBE-eiPgQ I know this was proposed a while ago and might be dead but I've always wanted to see where it would be built if it was. Interesting location if I may say however major connectivity improvements will be needed to breach the RR tracks to connect this site with Atlantic Station. ChristChurch Presbyterian: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_xgZtr7Q26c Atlanta’s ChristChurch Presbyterian has broken ground on a dramatic new sanctuary at 1740 Peachtree St. Unlike a traditional Southern or Gothic worship facility, the new church will feature an exciting modern design that will incorporate much of the site’s existing building and complement its urban __________________ Atlanta's Finest Freelance Audio/Visual Production Serviceshttp://www.immovablemedia.net http://www.youtube.com/user/ImmovableMedia
  8. I asked a senior official at Central Atlanta Progress why the Downtown Loop was the inaugural line for the Atlanta Streetcar, as opposed to say the proposed line along Peachtree St. (from Brookhaven MARTA to 5 Points). This CAP official said the failure of T-SPLOST combined with (as you said) lack of completed studies on the Peachtree St line effectively forced them to focus their efforts on the Downtown Loop as the 1st line, since funding would be easier to secure and studies were closer to completion. This official also mentioned how at several public meetings residence of Midtown were unified in stating their concerns regarding the car Maintenance Facilities noise, pollution and its overall effect of the neighborhood's quality of life, not to mention it would be an unwelcome eyesore. Overwhelmingly Midtowners supported the Atlanta Streetcar as a great local transportation option and an effective form of traffic relief, saying they would definitely use it. Yet a resounding NO was heard to housing the Maintenance Facility in Midtown. This official also pointed out that the GDOT already owned the land and the City of Atlanta has been trying to improve the area underneath the connector for years. Streetcar Maintenance Yard: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fPtWIfKLYYE Entire Loop: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1-WXPsFbzbI - Individual sections of the Atlanta Streetcar - (1) Centennial Olympic Park to Woodruff Park: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nAvsnuG20QI (2) Woodruff Park to 75/85 Connector via Edgewood Ave: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-vVGbttfYiM (3) 75/85 Connector to King Historic District via Edgewood Ave: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cmH6_xC4UQU (4) King Historic District to 75/85 Connector via Auburn Ave: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jxV2b1KHEzc (5) 75/85 Connector to Woodruff Park via Auburn Ave: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pVAZ7D3wzxE (6) Woodruff Park to Centennial Olympic Park via Peachtree St, Ellis St, Carnegie Way & Andrew Young International Blvd:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DxqbM_cBgPM __________________ Atlanta's Finest Freelance Audio/Visual Production Services http://www.immovablemedia.net http://www.youtube.com/user/ImmovableMedia
  9. National Center for Civil & Human Rights: The Center has topped out at 3 floors. Take a look and judge for yourself but IMO this building is really too small. Compared to the World of Coke (94,000 sqft) and the GA Aquarium (600,000+ sq ft) right next door, the Center is by far the smallest (42,000 sq ft). Truly sad because the work of Atlanta's Civil Rights pioneers is by far the greatest gift any Atlantan has given the world. Sorry John Pemberton but Martin Luther King wins in my book. Too bad Asa Candler isn't around to market the Center. I digress... College Football Hall Of Fame: Construction has ramped up with the addition of a 2nd crane. Crews are up to the 3rd floor. I bet this place will be very popular once complete with lots of pedestrians in the area. Aloft Hotel: Hotel ATL is no more. You can see how crews have completely gutted the lobby. The entire lot is fenced off and the landscaping has been removed. Scaffolding is in place as crews replace windows and repaint the entire facade. Looks like a full renovation. GSU College of Law Building: The entire lot ha been fenced off and say goodbye to 75% of the trees on John Wesley Dobbs Ave. X marked for death. I suppose the parking deck containing the Dry Cleaners and Subway will soon be cleared. Does anyone have any info regarding the deck's demo? Hyatt House: Diagonally across the street from the GA Aquarium is the site of a proposed 150-room Hyatt House. One12Courtland: Crews are working on the 6th floor of the student housing tower. The former Ramada Inn looks great and is open to students. __________________ Atlanta's Finest Freelance Audio/Visual Production Services http://www.immovablemedia.net http://www.youtube.com/user/ImmovableMedia
  10. Elan Westside: The main building has topped out at 6-floors. Crews continue work on of the units above the parking deck. Walton Westside: Crews have topped out the building fronting Huff St at 6-floors. Work continues on the 2nd building across from the Goat Farm Arts Center. This are is going to be a traffic nightmare when another 250 cars move into the neighborhood! Tech Engineered Biosystems Building: A lot of concrete is being used on the foundations of this building. Crews have finally made it to street level. Atlanta Buddhist Culture Center: The 13,700 sqft Buddhist Center is taking shape quickly. The steel framework is almost complete. The building looks to only be 2-floors. Station 16 Apartments: Thanks to the map.atlantadev.com for help with identification! This 3-acre lot is bound by 16th, 17th and Mecaslin streets. Its not in Atlantic Station, just across the street. __________________ Atlanta's Finest Freelance Audio/Visual Production Services http://www.immovablemedia.net http://www.youtube.com/user/ImmovableMedia
  11. Hyatt Hotel at Villa Christina: 0EFEv8jwrBs The building has topped out. @ 10 floors, it fits perfectly with its surroundings. It's really great that most of the trees fronting the street have been saved and will be incorporated in the landscaping. Cox Enterprises Tower: RpUANMAAWoI Crews are racing ahead! A 2nd crane has been installed as work continues on the 9th floor. Citizens Perimeter Apartments: SdsIyHxekII I can't believe how fast crews are building the wood framed apartments. 6 weeks ago they were no buildings up yet (just the parking deck) and now their topping out at 6 floors. Pretty quick IMO 1160 Hammond Apartments: SdsIyHxekII Crews are moving a little slower here. Foundation work continues as the parking deck goes up on the northern end of the lot. __________________ Atlanta's Finest Freelance Audio/Visual Production Services http://www.immovablemedia.net http://www.youtube.com/user/ImmovableMedia
  12. Construction Update #6.1 Camden Buckhead: The townhouses fronting E Andrews are taking shape. Two cranes up on site. Crescent Terminus: A section of Highland Dr is closed as crews work on the 3rd floor of building 2. Building 1 has topped out while building 3 finally rises to street level. Buckhead Atlanta: Even on a Saturday, construction is roaring ahead. The southernmost sections are beginning to take shape as the office towers to the north continue to rise. Restoration Hardware: The ESPN Zone is gone. Make way for 6 floors of luxury home goods shopping in the form of Restoration Hardware. Skyhouse Buckhead: Situated on Stratford Dr next to the new MARTA entrance will lie SkyHouse Buckhead. The tradition continues. Lenox Square Apartments: Seen here is the site of the recently proposed 36-floor apartment tower behind Lenox Mall along East Paces Ferry Rd. If this does get built the views of Atlanta should be spectacular. Lenox Square Renovation: Renovation to the front entrance continues. Post Alexander: Crews have begun site preparation on a 340 unit tower at the corner of Phipps Blvd and Lenox Rd in Buckhead. __________________ Atlanta's Finest Freelance Audio/Visual Production Services http://www.immovablemedia.net http://www.youtube.com/user/ImmovableMedia
  13. Thanks for watching! Construction #6 will cover about 40 Metro ATL Developments so stay tuned, much more to come
  14. Overton Rise: The residential component of Hines' "Overton Park" is under construction at the corner of Akers Mill Rd and Cumberland Pkwy, just southeast of the Cobb Cloverleaf. Two Overton Park: Not sure what the official word on this 17 floor office tower is. Right now the site is being used as a rock crushing/dirt collection/equipment lot for Overton Rise, right next door. Anyone have any info? Vallate Apartments: Across the street from the Northside Branch of the FC Public Library (3295 Northside Pkwy) developers Ellinwood + Machado have begun work on two buildings: A 12 story concrete high rise connected to a 5 story wood framed mid rise; Vallate Apartments.
