  1. Agreed. Also, again. Uptown already has 3 museums (all rather underwhelming), I would see it as a waste of space to put another one in this area (away from the center for the arts anyways).
  2. Not exactly sure why H&M has turned into such a controversial topic on here. But the fact of the matter is, its fashion forward and affordable clothing. Nothing wrong with it and a great place to shop for 20somethings. I do wish we would get a Zara though :/
  3. Couldn't agree with you more. What does uptown need most? It is most certainly not a aquarium. In the reality of uptown, we need retail, hotel rooms and office space. There is a TON of land here that could most certainly accommodate all those needs. Expanding the nightlife scene as well as the M-F 9-5 scene down this way on tryon would be great for the city really expand the feel of uptown... and a side note: yes that days inn has GOT to go. Don't know if anyone watches Homeland, but this season it was used to depict a shady run down motel where a terrorist was hiding out....case in point
  4. Well this is a breath of fresh air and hopefully will get some life going in this area of uptown. Discuss.... http://www.bizjournals.com/charlotte/blog/queen_city_agenda/2013/12/charlottes-north-tryon-street-just-like-starting.html?page=all
  5. Was in there for lunch yesterday. Just delicious, the bartender said during the lunch rush every table was full and there was a line to the door for to-go orders. This place is going to kill it. Side note: they have phenomenal drink specials!!
  6. Hopefully once construction starts on the park its not like Romare Bearden and takes an ungodly amount of time to finish.
  7. Pardon the ignorance....but what exactly is the location of the park going to be? (What intersection...etc)
  8. Yeah she is not in sales, so I guess that's not too bad then.
  9. A friend of mine is looking to get a job there....its that bad? Should i steer her away?
  10. Could you imagine if they developed that whole parcel, removing W Hill street and having that whole area be transformative......oh the possibilities.....along with a cap over 277
  11. I was walking uptown and noticed the old Breakfast Club bar/club now has signs on that that say Level.....that location isnt great and i cant imagine this lasting long.... www.levelcharlotte.com
  12. Also this: http://charlotterestauranttraffic.com/news/onoki-sushi-bar-closes-shop/ I am surprised that place even lasted as long as it did. No one was ever there.
  13. I definitely agree the look definitely needs to be updated. It is PRIME real estate but when you have the Omni and Ritz right down the street....its just no comparison.
  14. http://www.bizjournals.com/charlotte/blog/real_estate/2013/11/marriott-purchases-uptown-hotel-plans.html Interesting article, cool to see the importance of that location. It always seems to be full
  15. This was brought up a while ago, but it has gone quiet since
  16. I asked a manager at the H&M at the northlake location today. She confirmed that Southpark AND concord mills are getting an H&M in 2014
  17. Nov. 14th!! Here we go! Can not wait for H&M http://obswhatsinstore.blogspot.com/2013/10/charlotte-h-stores-opening-in-november.html
  18. looks really nice!! it'll be a great addition to the density uptown, doesn't look like there is retail though (could be wrong??)
  19. Any chance you could get the stats for a comparable city like Columbus, Oh? I would be interested too see what the percentage is in a city about the same size.
  20. We would hope so, I just want them all to hurry up.
