I got great seats to swarm on Saturday night... And like most people who've been attending these events, I think anything short of the name change would only be a slap in the face after these (seemingly deliberate) "teasers" from the bobcats office. I'm not sure they would risk the "goodwill" they could lose by alienating these groups.

The Observer just posted this article about Ron Carlee. I was just mentioning his take on the panther renos a few mins ago but this article covers in brevity his opinion on multiple topics.... as I mentioned earlier I really like this guy so far. ^ Yeah, I also wish that they would have considered expansion in the design. But I'll be there cheering for the knights until the day more tax dollars are used to finance an mlb stadium so they can tear down this expensive (but beautiful) stadium. Hindsight might be rough in a decade.

^ agreed, independence blvd has enough dealerships for the whole city imo. Car dealerships love plots right off the interstate as much as commuters love scenery.

^^ The uncc center city building looked a million times better in the renderings than it turned out IMO. I like this building and I think what might be the most impressive thing to me would the scale of this project with the modern features.

Can't wait to play some catch before football/baseball games here... probly even try to burn time before hornets... i mean bobcats... games next fall, in this little slice of heaven.

I looked at the pdf again and noticed that the signage really isn't bad on the park side, I guess when I skimmed the first time I didn't notice how much room the fence and skywalk occupy on that side. I was afraid it would look like something from Tokyo. And dont get me wrong, the closer to the epicenter and twc, I love brighter, louder ads everywhere. And someone please slap something on the giant flat wall on the back of the UNCC center city building haha. I just really like the "clean" look of the city driving up or down 77 past bofa stadium. But this park, with more or less ads, will bring its own personality to the city regardless.

Maybe so... I'm sure ill like how it ends up regardless, but the thought of a giant bulletin board lining the west edge of bearden could be... odd. I guess if u pretend its a mural then Tj max and Nike won't be as weird in the background of wedding photos haha

Just for fun... I vote we build the Knights new stadium across the interstate on the penisula south of the Transco Pipeline facility overlooking the lake... That is after they relocate from Charlotte when the MLB team moves in Dream Big Mooresville haha

If only the current railroad tracks were not over a mile east of this development. Maybe it would have helped sway some of the Iredell political figures to help the red line task force.

And think of the footprint on Skyhouse and Skye compared to the area under the tower portion of 210... Wishful thinking 8) I hope we hear something official in the near future.

Gotta side with jednc here... A few in power make the push but most people in the immediate area seem to think it would waste tax dollars... It's like they messed up all the stop lights downtown back in like 06 (to keep cars off the tracks) to get this thing in motion and then got cold feet. Result= slow growth. Now it takes 10 mins to drive 1 mile alone north/south down broad or main and there's still no commuter rail. :/

If we win our next game... then in the matchup with the Heat this weekend will be "2 teams with the longest win streaks of their season on the line!" haha

Been waiting for the red line for years... Kind of biased with my job in downtown Mooresville but I blame the stalled red line for killing Mooresville Mills, 100 Church St, and all the other failed downtown projects.
