Are there any plans for the parking lot that is at the corner of KVB and Hermitage Ave? Building some thing there would be a nice finishing touch to that area. While I'd prefer another tower, even a nicely cladded/artistic, multi-level garage would be better than a surface parking lot. Maybe include a grocery store at the base to address the concern by VSRJ.
I seem to remember there being at least a vague vision for a taller tower to be built on that lot one day, I believe it came up after we were all so underwhelmed with the scale of the initial Peabody Plaza proposal.

Our state government is pathetic, and has even gained some national media attention recently due to just how many of our state laws are written to supercede the will of local laws.
Combine this with our ridiculous new district that allows for our local representative being Andy Ogles (of Maury County), and there is a clear agenda to marginalize the state's biggest economic engine and its residents.

The fascinating thing about this project for me personally is that I drive by it nearly every morning and night and yet I have literally never seen one person working on it. There is slow progress that is visible on the exterior now but I have never seen anybody actually working on the building or even hanging out on the site. It's like their contractor was the tooth fairy or something, it baffles me.

I really enjoy the look of this, but have a feeling this community will fight tooth and nail to ensure this never comes to fruition

There are so many shameless developers out there, it's pretty sad. I know that people are willing to stoop low to make money all of the time, but you have to imagine that it gets a bit embarrassing when people ask what buildings you worked on and you have to point toward one of these modern day commieblocks slapped on top of a barebones parking garage.

The Titans should just play in the scrapyard as is, it's what we deserve after the last 3 weeks

The renderings are truly stunning, but there is clearly something way off with either the scale of the proposals shown, or the height figures provided in this chart. The Ritz Carlton is by far the tallest building in every angle, yet is listed at 396' and dwarfs the neighboring Circle South at 445' and 800 Lea at 600' tall. It's not perspective tricks either, because even in the distanced shots from Fort Negley, the Ritz is clearly illustrated as the tallest building in the shot.

This side of town is popping now and it's only going to continue.

The signs are pretty funny, calling it the "Wedgewood-Houston Arena".
If you're resorting to editorializing in order to sell your point, you've already lost in my opinion.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion and I agree that there are some measures that could be taken to reign in Broadway a bit, but a lot of this editorial response we're seeing of late is becoming melodramatic to me.
You're telling me people are no longer supporting the Symphony because they don't approve of everything they see on their minutes-long walk from their car to the venue? I don't know, it just feels like a convenient external excuse for declining memberships to me. Furthermore, the complaints of bar owners would feel more valid to me if they weren't so quick to point the finger toward street vendors as one of the biggest catalysts to issues. I'm sure there aren't any ulterior motives there.

I'm going to completely guess here and say that the Stadium will have a simplistic, more classically-inspired design to it to mirror Broadway/2nd Ave. Nihill continually emphasized "character" over extravagance and opulence as a direction for the new stadium, so I just have a hunch that we may see some brick and perhaps even some neon like what was featured in this conceptual rendering for Nissan Stadium renovations-
Granted, I want to reiterate that I know that this is just a conceptual rendering for renovations that will never happen, but I really think that this could offer some pretty solid insight into the organization's thinking with the new building as an evergreen entertainment venue that plays off of Nashville's reputation through emulating those smaller music venue touches.

If they emulate anything from Geodis, I would absolutely love to see them carry over the steep seating sections that allow the upper deck seats to feel really close to the pitch. Most NFL stadiums outside of maybe Arrowhead stadium feature lower bowls that extend far back, which feels really needless after going to games at Geodis this year.

Loser's is easily one of the most claustrophobic, uncomfortable spaces I have ever been in. I don't blame them for wanting to expand a bit and add the hottest Nashville bar feature currently, a rooftop.

I love the massing on this one, particularly the way that the pedestal stair steps as you go up the hill. What a simple, yet cool design feature

A new B-Cycle Station was just added near the corner of 6th Ave and Broadway, so there is clearly still some focus being payed to downtown.

A couple of minor updates announced: It is now being listed as 36 stories instead of 35; 10,300 sq. ft. of retail/restaurant space now instead of 7,695 previously; 250 below grad parking as opposed to 136 before.

Seems to bode well for where things are headed!

Driving by last night, it looks like signage has appeared at the 4th & Lynsley Blvd split site for this project-
There are now workers and equipment working to clear/prep this site, a lot of trees have been taken down already and an excavator is working to level out the hills.

The Drift Hotel (complete renovation of Stadium Inn at 6-7 stories, 110 units) update: whole new layer of red brick being cemented on exterior.
Looking NW from Main St. at Interstate Drive:
Looking north from Main St. at North 2nd St:
Looking SE from Howerton Ave., 1/2 block east of North 2nd St:
Looking SW from intersection of Interstate Drive and Howerton Ave:https://drifthotels.co/nashville
Is this the same project? If so, I'm pretty shocked by how good these renderings look. Exterior renderings are notably missing, but it seems to be looking like a very effective rebrand if it turns out like this.

The style is sort of gothic meets classic meets modern. I really like the top of it.
This building is a great case to prove that you don't need an extravagant, ornamental crown to create a tall building with great distinction. Small setbacks and great cladding make this one a real stunner, I love it. While I really feel that the 1010 design is great, I do feel that the design lacks some of those elevated details that this one has. What if the jeweled facade were to protrude from the top even just a tiny bit? What if the crown tapered in slightly?

Every proposal isn't gonna be huge, infill exists in every urban center. The good news is that with more of these projects going up, developers will be forced to increase height eventually. That can already be observed with how many more 500 footers are under construction/currently proposed in the city in comparison to even 5 years ago.
