  1. I want them to build the stadium so badly in uptown, Charlotte needs sporting events year round to boost the business around the proposed ballpark, I'm sure this has already be discussed but how much would it be to build the stadium so that it can be upgraded down the road to a major league stadium? It just makes so much sense to do it and I don't think it would be that much more expensive; all the problems would be solved if someone like Duke Energy for example would pay for the upgrade difference... Hoping cooler heads prevail!
  2. If that route to OC is true I will be one incredibly happy man! I live 5 minutes away from John Wayne airport and I have to say it's a pain driving to LAX or connecting through Phoenix or Atlanta to get to Charlotte... Please let this be true!
  3. I'd rather have parking decks though then surface lots, so build up the surface lots to parking decks then when you run out of space you build on the topping decks, there's no need to build on the parking decks when there is so many empty surface lots. Like you said though, hopefully give it 10-20 years (hopefully the economy will get better soon :/ )

    The Vue

WOW, awesome, once they get rid of those surface lots its going to look great!
  5. It's great having a flight to Rio and also Paris now too, but to play devil's advocate, in this bad economy how many people would travel to these places. Sure there are businessmen who might sometimes travel and some people from connecting cities in the case for Rio, but really not that many people need to go to Brazil IMO. My dad use to fly there for work and it was a hassle due to all the visa restrictions but he stopped business over there because it was too dangerous because of the lack of regulation laws. Again I'm just playing devil's advocate, if this works out its great for Charlotte, I'm just worried there's not gonna be enough demand for this type of destination in Charlotte, especially without a consulate in the city like uptownliving eluded to.
  6. This truly is fantastic, this building will be a catalyst to so many new projects in the future in the first ward from apartments for students, to shops and other amenities that everyone in uptown can enjoy. This in my mind will truly make Charlotte have a vibrant urban center that retains people past 5 in the afternoon.
  7. I'm not confident about playoffs this year, but i guarantee playoffs next year, everyone will have training camp to adapt to eachother, and dont be surprised if they end up being in the top 5 teams next year in the East, they won't win the division because of Orlando, but they will be very hard to beat next year, and its up to the people of Charlotte to support them, they are starting to win, give them that 6th man in terms of fans, if we can make the Bobcats "den" then same as the "hive" was for the Hornets, imagine the excitement!
  8. are there any updates from this project, I'm curious if it has slowed down given the troubles BofA is facing
  9. Bobcats win again! 5 in a row! bring on the playoffs baby!
  10. This just in Vladamir Radmonovic from the Lakers for Adam Morrison and Shannon Brown, great trade for the Bobcats, don't be surprised if there is another trade announced before the trade deadline, the Bobcats have so many role players but no star, that star is coming soon.
  11. I think what they really need to get working on is that new international terminal. With the announcement of all these potential new routes across the globe, Charlotte needs a world class international terminal.
  12. I really don't see an increase in flights for Continental. Isn't this the same Continental that is almost bankrupt? They are hardly in a position to be adding any more service from a city that is already monopolized by USAIRWAYS. It will be an increase code-sharing nothing else. If Continental were to increase it's service in any USAIRWAYS hub it would be in Philadelphia due its population size. The merger with Continental will have little impact for Charlotte, it will be same as United basically.
  13. Man i can't wait for the 1 Bank of America Center to be topped out, gonna be a great addition to the skyline!

    The Vue

I haven't been to Charlotte for a while, is there still that surface lot on the same lot as the VUE? If there is any ideas on what they'll do to it?
  15. Another big question that I have is why on Earth did they give the Bogota routes to JetBlue and Spirit Airways. Does not make sense to me one bit. A possibility is it might have to do with USIARWAYS financial problems but still, JetBlue and Spirit, big flop on the part of DOT
  16. Any updates on the legal dispute between 210 trade and Spectrum?
  17. If only DOT would have approved the route to Bogota in 2007. Charlotte could have had potentially two routes to two South American cities and countries. Don't be surprise though if TAM, a star alliance member decides to create a route from Sao Paolo to Charlotte in light of USAIRWAYS proposed route to Rio.
