  6. This should be a big win for Columbus and the region. Hopefully a lot more projects will happen now, especially the 4-laning of Veterans Pwky and the proposed I-14 and I-185 projects.
  7. Any word on when construction might begin?
  8. It is out in East Columbus. There are a lot of manufacture companies out that way. Big industrial parks, etc. It is off of Woodruff Road.
  9. Definitely great news! Big wins for both Columbus and Atlanta! Both cities continue to lead the way with major corporate HQ's!
  10. I would like to see the old Raymond Rowe building razed. That corner on Broadway would be perfect for a mixed-use project. Any word on what the plans are for that building?
  11. If anthing, TSYS will gobble up someone else. Synovus might be more vulnerable, but I am sure it will be fine.
  12. That will be an amazing addition to CSU! When will construction begin?
  13. I am 25, and I majored in Real Estate from UGA. Columbus is developing itself much better than the other 2nd tier cities. Our amenities are so much better than what you would find in other 2nd tier cities. We have only seen the tip of the iceberg on what this city has planned. I have seen plans for the additional phases of CPC, it is going to be amazing. It has been postponed unfortunately due to the economy.
  14. New Retail Center for North Columbus: Veterans Commons Great Beginnings Child Care, Mongo Grill set for Old Moon Road corner A supersized child-care center and a restaurant specializing in Asian stir-fry are coming to a retail and service center in north Columbus. This is part of the first phase of Veterans Commons, now under construction on six acres of land at the northeast corner of Veterans Parkway and Old Moon Road. Great Beginnings Child Care is locating inside its own 14,000-square-foot building on the back side of the property. The company is looking for a second in south Columbus near Fort Benning. Fronting Veterans Commons, meanwhile, is a 15,000-square-foot shopping center that will be anchored by a restaurant called Mongo Grill. The eatery, which will seat 160, should open by June. Guests are allowed to choose from an array of meat, vegetables and spices, then watch as the dish is cooked in a large grill over high heat. It essentially customizes the meal by offering a large number of flavor combinations. Columbus-based Allen Development Group is constructing Veterans Commons. Company President Bud Allen said the first phase covers three of the six acres. More space available After Mongo Grill moves in to the initial phase, there will be room for four more tenants, mostly small retail and serviced oriented.
  15. Where did you hear the information on the CVS?
  16. Definitely a nice addition to the area. Wish something would be done with the old Firehouse club down the street. That's such a nice piece of real estate.
  17. Einstein Bros. Bagels has opened a store on Columbus State University's campus. Einstein's is very popular in the Atlanta area.
  18. I think the nighlife has picked up. FlipsFlops downtown is nice. There is also one in Statesboro, GA and Atlanta. Columbus nighlife is definitely getting better.
  19. That is unreal! I just got done reading about it. That is a HUGE fire! I am just glad nobody was living there. Were there plans to do anything with it? I think that mill was once one of the largest in the country.
  20. Whittlesey will be widened between Whitesville Road and Veterans, but I am not sure if it will have a median. It is supposed to start soon too.
  21. I believe it will be in Columbus Park Crossing somewhere. That's what I have heard.
  22. Sear's repair center is just moving to the North Columbus Sears. I don't think any jobs are being lost.
