Alright, now that Dyer, Crotty and the Magic seem to be on the right page for once, what kind of timetable are they looking at to get a final design of the new arena and then begin building it in order to make the fall 2010 completion? Also, when does anyone think that the city will begin to demolish the block across from city hall to begin the PAC?

Does anybody have some computer animation of the new arena we can have posted here? The news links from WFTV, WESH and Local6 all show something interactive but only allow it to be seen for 2-3 seconds If somone can upload that into this thread, that would be great

If the sporadically sponsor a free all you can eat BBQ night, then by all means get that name on the building One can dream

I say the Buddy Dyer Memorial Arena He has done more for this city than any other mayor and deserves the recognition that Crotty and Mulvaney will not give Granted, he is far from dead but will be a fitting tribute to him when he leaves office Will most certainly get Crotty's panties in a bunch

Whether this pans out or not, you have to admit, it's an awesome idea Wow!!! Think about having a stadium like that in Orlando (preferably downtown) near a new arena (oh god please go downtown!) and the kind of status this would bring here The goose bumps are building on me as we speak

So does anyone think that Dyer would actually dump the Citrus Bowl plans? I believe it's necessary to do so but all signs seem to be pointing to great reluctance for Dyer to even consider doing it A shame really, think of how great the arena and PAC with the money distributed between the both of them only

These pictures are awesome, hands down It's definetly a new era in Orlando and this project is the perfect example As much as I love what I see here, I hate to be the one to beotch and whine but wouldn't it be great if each of the 2 office towers was another 5 floors each and the Solaire another 10 floors? Imagine that I should stop beotching, this is so much better than the nothing that we had before

Do they really have an opinion on it that they believe in or are they just waiting for Dyer and Crotty to go on celebrity politician boxing and wait to see who wins before they endorse whatever is there?

Hey man, Solaire is way too short and stubby, there's no doubt about that However, look at the bigger picture It adds some great density and will complement everything else going up It's not perfect by far but downtown will be a better place for it For the record, I am also annoyed of the stubbiness just not that annoyed

I couldn't agree more, what a frickin joke Widening I-4 will not bring more sprawl through Orlando, the sprawl is already there, the interstate simply has not been able to keep up with it It's the same logic when going through security screening at the airport: you cannot have a lighter on board but you can have a book of matches (although today's events will hopefully indicate a change on that) I really wish Mobility 20/20 passed 4 general purpose lanes and 2 toll lanes for faster driving in each direction would have been great Wouldn't solve the problem but would helped immensley

I apologize, I have not made it much of a point to track this thread much but I have read everything in the past week or so concerning Jeb and his plan but still do have a question or 2 Based on the large sum of money being spent on this project, am I to assume the majority of this money to be spent will be done on building stations at the stops? Will there be a need to build additional rail lines or is it to utilize existing lines only? Based on the fact that CSX trains are being diverted, does anyone know where they're being diverted to?

Blue Rose is beautiful, absolutely beautiful I agree it would not fit downtown based on its sheer size but what a shame Would have been incredible to see this impacting the skyline
