Hard to disagree with putting us fairly low on the list--we don't have a distinctive cuisine/dish & could use more adventurous restaurant options. Asheville & Durham are too small to make that list, but I think they would both rank ahead of us for interesting food right now. But there's no need to be rude about it. At least they could have given a mention of our growing local beer scene. -
"Vibrant flair" is not a term you would have seen used as a plausible description of Charlotte 10 years ago, maybe not even 5. Seems like things are starting to build on each other & have a kind of multiplier effect. Great to see.

Went to Party in the Park tonight at Romare Bearden (http://www.charlottecentercity.org/ai1ec_event/party-in-the-park-series/). Good music & the skyline looks great as the sun goes down. Very nice use of the space.

This place now has a For Sale sign posted. I wonder if the developers were planning to reuse the building, and it was just too damaged to save. Too bad, there was an interesting building underneath all that dark wood. Sign says "build to suit, up to 9,000 sf." I still hope something good ends up here, but less optimistic than I was.

Completely agree. Always thought that place would make a great neighborhood bar with a great big u-shaped bar in the middle and a pair of nice pool tables in those front windows.

Does the redevelopment in Dilworth Gardens mean that Pio Pio will have to move or close? Love that place, would hate to see it go.
