  1. The Brewery scene is growing, and I'm crossing my fingers it pans out. Coming from the west coast, we're missing out in the beer dept. at the local level. I really dig a good gastro brew pub, and Fat Bottom Brewing (FBB) is getting close. I think FBB is funded pretty well, so there is hope he can make it over the new start up hill. If you’re ever near Rehoboth Beach, DE, a trip to the Dogfish Head Brewery and Restaurant is highly recommended. They have a great set up, great food and really good beer. http://www.dogfish.com/restaurant/index.htm The other kind of restaurant I’d love to see here? Something that spotlights Cuban cooking. It was only after living in Florida did I discover that Cuban’s can cook their ass off. I'd trade a half a dozen Mexican joints for a good Cubano joint. I’ve been to the place off of Harding, and it wasn’t much to speak about unfortunately. I don’t think there are any other Cuban places in or around town.
  2. I don't feel the MCS is a failure. Something had to start somewhere. Ya gotta have spark to have fire. It was created within a fairly tight budget and really in terms of rail, It was done on the cheap. IMO the bigger issue is not getting the suburbs into town, (yeah that is a issue) but rather how you get around once your here. LTR not BRT is what's needed. Yeah it $$$. Lots of $$$. But guess what? It gets more costly as time goes on. It isn't going getting any cheaper and current projections show Middle TN and TN in general gaining in population. I haven't read of any LTR failures. Are there any? While it's a bit out of my way, I could take the MCS in to work. But I still need to get to work. Being on lower braodway is only 3/4 of the way for me. I couldn't tell you for the life of me how to get to music row once i'm in town. I looked around at a few sites, tried the route planner. After spending about 15 minutes I gave up. So that is my other point, they have failed to market the existing system. Then again maybe it sucks so bad, they haven't failed marketing it, it's just that bad. (bus system)
  3. A crane for the "The Rhythm" on Demonbreun Street just went up last week. About 15 storyies or so tall..
