I live on Madison across from Vista and while I initially did not like the building, I have grown to love it. Lets not talk about the almost 2 years of construction, Argh. The intersection at 5th and Madison and Madison St have changed a lot for the good in the 7 years I have lived there. More people are living around me and walking around the neighborhood. Saturday morning is a great time to sit at Red Bicycle and watch people out and about. -

One level of the skybridge is the apartment gym. The very top level is open outdoor space. Not sure about the 2nd level. -

I work across the street from this site and while I am excited about the building, I am not excited about contruction noise. -

So much for building atop the existing one-level structure. It is currently being demolished. -

Does anyone know if there are development plans for the Premier lot on the Demonbreun, 1st, Molloy, 2nd block? I received a notice Friday that soil borings are taking place this week in the lot next to my office. -

Due to the rapid growth in Germantown and lack of empty land, the Germantown Street Festival may need to move further north into Morgan Park. I doubt the church's Oktoberfest will move since the churches are part of the festival. -

I believe these are indeed going at the corner of 5th and VB. At some point I saw design plans but cannot remember where. From the Nashville Business Journal today: ZM Development Co. hopes to break ground in January on Morgan Park West, a $5 million residential project in Germantown, Nashville Post reports. The project, part of the broader Morgan Park Place development, will feature residential units in three buildings. Homes in the project will range from 2,200 square feet to 2,700 square feet, with starting prices in the low $500,000s. -

The historic building will be saved. According to the article... "Future plans may include luxury residential development with homes in the $250 to $300 per foot range in addition to the historic building." Also.."As for the existing building, Hammond said it would make a beautiful restaurant." I live in Germantown and am excited to hear this.
