have seen a couple movies in the last couple of weeks on weeknight and weekend and the theatre has been very busy...still not super packed inside but there is a long line outside...and i've also heard from friends who dont live downtown be like "have you heard about the theatre downtown???" so i think it is awesome business is finally picking up!

lol^ i think that is an awesome problem that they have long lines now! yay! but just in time for me moving out of solaire so i dont have to deal with theatre patron parking! gosh that is a nightmare to deal with ppl who are not use to that poorly designed garage!

agreed, i lived in solaire before and i was able to figure out multiple different routes to get there... i suppose you could always turn right earlier (washington) on orange? make a left on hughey and come down church then garland then pine? gah! too much...can't stand the one ways!!! i'm glad i live in aspire/dynetech...traffic is so much less of an issue

those pictures look great! definitely great staging thats for sure love the grey cabinetry! if only they were going to open when i had to move somewhere but like hisma said, this may be up for a possible move after my lease is up at aspire as well!

hahah yea i thought that i would do the same if i were to move in to 55w ya i moved in recently on the 23rd and everything is loud on that side of the bldg, but its nothing worse than any other condo in the area facing towards downtown vs lake eola side, the train is loud no matter where you live downtown...its just one of those "charming" things about living downtown i went up the parking elevators and peeked through to the front of 55w...its definitely going to be a nice place and hopefully it fills up just as the plaza has ... i can't wait to check out some of the model units just for curiositys sake...i know they start tours aug 1 !!!

so has anyone put down a deposit on one of these places? i stopped in a few weeks ago to talk #'s and being that they are only going to have floors 4-10 open by september...i decided to pass and chose a different dt highrise. im wondering how the train and latitudes noise is going to affect the building...wonder how high you need to be before that doesnt become a nuisance

that sounds terrible, i was excited that something finally opened up in that space, but sounds like the waitstaff and mgmt from spice thornton park moved to pesca ... never have i had a good experience at spice thornton park...but the wp spice was great and the one time we were able to go to rustic was great as well...but hopefully pesca up's their game cuz that is a great locale, hate to see it empty again!

yea i think they were able to adjust themselves from their soft opening reviews...there were 4 of us at the table and our friends enjoyed their meal just as well so i know it wasn't just an exception, still have not had time to post my blog...hopefully will get around to it next week! i can't say it has "improved" as it was my first time there...but im definitely going to have a welcome to the building dinner there again!

went to black olive a couple weeks ago for the first time and it was absolutely amazing! very nicely decorated restaurant, great atmosphere and the food was delicious! shared a motz and tomato app, 2 table side made caeser salads, a steak dinner and a fish dinner and a shared dessert plus a glass of wine and soda...all under $100 for 2 ... can't say that wasn't a great deal for one of the more swanky places in downtown...a full review on my site coming up in the next week or two... (in the process of moving downtown from the east side woo hoo!)

tried to go there last sunday, but they were closed... wanted to try it out as their former location was near an auto shop my friends own behind them, but they closed and moved before we could check it out! sad to see that it isnt convenient to us anymore, glad that it reopened up!

im still hearing from the rumor mill (zom associates) that they are gonna rent their studios starting at 900 starting in august...so we shall see... im def hoping to get into one of those around then!

actually ended up there tonight, like what they've done with it...they pretty much extended what was nypd into what was the cool blue burrito place and made it more a barestaurant....nice menu selection, tonight was a soft opening, food was decent, zeppoles were awesome...nice atmosphere to catch the game tonight, wasnt crazy packed...hope their food improves in taste but overall not too shabby for soft opening

does anyone know what the underground orlando place is? i've heard it on the news with this theatre going up...but i cant find anything online about it, trying to find a place downtown to watch the game that isnt absolutely absurdly packed

i agree 55west will be the new hot spot to live, i dont know how realistic the rent in the high 900s is...being that within a year of living there ... the events center will be done, and the movie theater will be well established and who knows what else!

i read that as well! has anyone spoken to any of the leasing agents and have anymore info to share? i am VERY interested if this is as good as it sounds!

went to boston's fish house in winter park, i know it is a local favorite, and perhaps we went on a bad night, but i felt like they overcooked everything... more about it on my blog (see sig)

it is back open under the quiznos 2 doors away from there....glad its back

yay if that is true about manuels that will be a nice addition to the place!
