  1. The Drive have three items autographed by Curt Schilling up for auction on the website with the proceeds to benefit the ALS Association - South Carolina Chapter. The items are: 1) Autographed Schilling jersey with certificate of Authenticity - starting price $200 2) Autographed framed poster of Schilling's 3000th career strikeout - starting price $200 3) Autographed Schilling baseball - starting price $100 The auctions on all three items last until noon on August 16th. Great items for a great cause. Here's the link http://www.greenvilledrive.com/merchandise...D=datediff+desc
  2. Standings on the Drive website have been there since it launched. On the Gamecenter on the front page, there's a tab that says Standings.
  3. Sites designed by MiLB/MLB are free to teams, however there are tons of restrictions which end up hurting the team - 1) The team has no say in the design. It's a cookie cutter, every one of their sites looks the same. Therefore no brand image on the website. 2) MiLB puts their own sponsors on the team's website, non of the team's own sponsors, even if they conflict with one of the team's corporate partners. For example, BB&T could have the naming rights to the stadium but the website won't have a BB&T ad but will have a Bank of America ad since BOA is a national sponsor for MiLB. 3) Teams cannot upload stories directly to the website. They must be sent to MiLB first for approval. MiLB sites are good for the smaller teams that don't have the budget to pay for the upkeep of a site. And to answer someone else's question from a week ago, I do not work or have any association with the website design team or Drive. Infinity Pro Sports is based out of College Station, TX and they do the websites for about 300 sports teams (Major, Minor, and Independent). Somone else had also said that the Drive's new site contains too much info on the front page. I suggest checking out the likes of other sports teams. The Altoona Curve and Reading Phillies sites are packed with info on the front page and these are the teams that win annual awards for their sites. This is also on the extreme, but I believe ESPN and Sports Illustrated jam their front pages with info. It's easier to navigate then having to click on a ton of submenus. Whitehourseview, the gametracker you speak of is also on the Drive's website. Where the box score is, click on Log and shows you batter by batter.
  4. Looks like everything is up and running on the new Drive site, the stuff on the left hand side has been fixed. I have not experienced any problems with the size, I think it works best if you're set with a width of 800 pixels. Now that it looks like the navigation stuff has been fixed, what would you guys change about it?
  5. They only broadcasted home games last year. Ed Jenson from WORD Radio is their play-by-play announcer and he is unable to travel with the team due to his responsibilities with Entercom. It's also pretty costly to broadcast games online.
  6. I'm pretty sure all of those things will be in the navigation tool (Lineup Card) that isn't loading properly on the left hand side. When that gets fixed it everything should be running smoother.
  7. Can someone explain to me how the the new site is unprofessional? Other than being slow to load, which I think will be fixed, I think the new site is great. It's much more organized, brighter, uses some of the nostalgic photos, and the brick is more exposed. I believe the site is going slow because of the host's server. I'm a huge MiLB fan, and when I was checking a bunch of other teams that Infinity hosts (same as the Drive's new site) they were all very slow to load. I also noticed on the Drive's site that it looks like some of the links on the navigation bar (Lineup) on the left aren't loading, once again probably due to the host server. Skyliner, the reason the broadcast isn't working is because the link says "Click here to listen to Drive home games." The team is on the road, therefore it's not going to work. I've been listening to the game on the RiverDogs website. Who else is excited for Opening Day?! Only 4 days!
  8. I've heard it should be ready by April 1st. I've seen a rough idea of the latest layout and it's awesome, more nostalgic and cleaner. The Drive want the new layout to be perfect and more user/fan friendly.
  9. Check out the Drive's website, Gabe Kapler is reporting from Spring Training with a blog. I think it's on the Greenville News website as well.
