  1. If this happens, that will be the best news I've ever heard!!! As someone who lives very close to these tracks, the loud blowing of the horn is quite annoying (I'm use to it now though). Anyone know what I can do to show my support for this?
  2. Sorry about asking the question, I guess I do need to speak to an agent. My apologizes. BTW, can't wait for this thing to finish up!
  3. This is a somewhat naive question and may not be the place, so I apologize if it's not. I was wondering if someone could provide with some information how exactly presales work, ie what was done for Trademark and/or Avenue. I'm very interested in this place and trying to determine if its the best thing to do (ie get in during presales). If this isn't the place for this discussion but someone could point in to a place with this info or could PM me, that would be greatly appreciated.
  4. Having a movie theatre is exactly what is needed to keep me living in Uptown for a long time.
  5. Of course I'll walk if I'm picking up something small! It's get a little harder if you're buying some things from Home Depot though.
  6. I hate asking questions like this, but I don't feel like hunting all over for the info right now. When is the "schedule" opening of the Target & Home Depot? What about the possible Best Buy, Staples, etc.? I live in Uptown and CAN'T wait to be able drive 2-3 minutes to these types of stores.
  7. One quick thing I find fascinating, and maybe it's just me only living in Uptown for a little over a month, but the lot at 11th and Brevard, which I assume is part of this land, has free parking for the whole month of July. Before this, about 10 cars would park in that lot on a normal work day. Now it's about 30+, but I'm guessing it will drop right back down at the end of July. I guessing not much money is being made on this lot!
  8. BRAVO!!! I love dreaming of what the skyline will look like in 5-7 years!
  9. Hey everyone, I am moving down to Charlotte after I graduate and working at Wachovia. Spent yesterday looking at apartments all over the city. I knew I wanted to live in Uptown, but wasn't sure how feasible it would be. Anyway, I visited Alpha Mills and signed up for what they said was one of the last 1-bedroom apartments! I fell in love with the place and can't wait to move down there. (I'm not worried about the trains though, I grew up in Detroit and lived for 4 months in Switzerland where there was a bell tower right across the street and it rang its every hour, even at night!)
