Does anyone know anything about the direct SouthWest flight from BHM to New Orleans? It's been cancalled since Katrina, and I wonder if SouthWest is ever going to reinstate it.

About the Federal Reserve project - I saw the article touting the Lexington Collection hotel to be incorporated in the property. I found their website, and the Lexington Collection properties don't look very impressive to me. Am I missing something? I would prefer an Omni for the Federal Reserve site, which I saw suggested on another board. I hope the area around the Palisades can be upgraded. I remember when the whole area belonged to the Shriners. I still think that the failure of Homewood to buy it to preserve as a park was a colossal mistake. If I had enough money, I would love to buy that property and turn it back into what it was ... and replace the original traffic flow of Oxmoor Road. Then, commercial investment would have to shift to infill and upgrading of properties on Green Springs Highway. I kind of think we didn't need either the Palisades or Wildwood. All that investment could have been channeled into the existing properties on Green Springs and Oxmoor -- upgrading and expanding facilities and filling in some of the big, empty parking lots with out parcels.
