  1. All owned by the same group that owns Seoul Food Meat Company.
  2. Any updates on the old corner store at the corner of Belmont/Pegram? Looks like significant progress and haven't noticed a For Lease sign in quite some time. Thoughts on something like Soul moving in. It's not quite as walkable with night life options as PM but they have a loyal following and would be an awesome addition to that area. Just a random thought I had. Maybe it's just the similarity of the exterior to the old space that triggered the idea.
  3. My understanding is that the rail company (CSX?) will not allow anything to go over/underneath any of their tracks. I suspect there are exceptions but in general that's what I understand their stance is.
  4. Sushi Guru property listed for sale back in June it appears... https://www.loopnet.com/Listing/1217-The-Plaza-Rd-Charlotte-NC/16276139/
  5. Looks like possibility of a boutique hotel in old Kickstand spot. Paywalled article so i can't see the details... https://www.bizjournals.com/charlotte/news/2019/08/28/chapel-hill-group-under-contract-to-buy-plaza.html
  6. Apologies if this was mentioned in an earlier thread. I believe it was rumored for awhile. https://www.bizjournals.com/charlotte/news/2018/05/08/asheville-taco-concept-dental-office-headed-to-new.html
  7. I believe they are just repairing the god awful stucco job they put on the place when it was built. The damn thing appears to be made of styrofoam.
  8. This may be an unpopular opinion but is gridlock necessarily a bad thing? It's the only thing that will force people to start walking, biking, public transpo, etc and force conversations on how to make those methods of transportation better. The amount of people that live in PM, Elizabeth, etc that pay for parking uptown rather than taking the bus just boggles my mind.
  9. Speaking of whispers, has anyone heard anything about Junior League Wearhouse possibly vacating fairly soon? Someone mentioned this in line the other day at Harris Teeter so I can't speak to the legitimacy but they seemed somewhat knowledgeable.
  10. That group owns 1124 Central as well. It's Rick Springsteeds's group. They own maybe 3/4's of the block. There were whispers a few months back of a potential grocer eyeballing the spot but not sure that anything came of it.
  11. I'm sure Villa Heights residents bordering the old alley will love the idea of a trail through their back/side yards :/
  12. They could start by taking the bars off of the windows. I don't think they care as much on the retail side. They should let someone take over that aspect of the operation. Such an underutilized space for the location.
  13. I actually heard that Publix or Whole Foods (forget which) had been in some preliminary discussions on this plot but they couldn't make the numbers work at the time.
  14. $3 million??? Is that anywhere close to reality for something zoned r5?
  15. It's coming down right now. Should be done by day's end based on the looks of it.
  16. I should have been more specific. Crosswalk with ped signal is what I was envisioning.
  17. Veterans Park would be much more utilized by folks from the PM side if they installed a crosswalk. Currently there is no stoplight all the way from Plaza to Morningside and is quite dangerous to cross.
  18. Based on a conversation I saw this morning on the Plaza Midwood FB page it looks like they are no longer going to attempt to rezone the Manufacturing portion of the property. At least that's what a potential tenant was told.
  19. How long ago are you talking? I'm pretty sure it was just a big concrete pad/sidewalk for many, many years.
  20. Sushi Guru.... Not seeing this on zoning or accela. Mind sharing where you found this?
  21. Big issue with a Central HS is where do you build one?
