I feel your pain, Kansas City is the same way. Ever since I was really young I remember hearing about it on the news and from my father, but it always gets shot down. I am not sure, but I think the vote might have passed in November, we'll see.

These are photos of the Country Club Plaza in Kansas City. This was the first shopping area in the world designed with the automobile in mind. Many of the arcitecutral styles come from the sister city of Seville, Spain. Every year there is a lighting ceremony on Thanksgiving night, that lights all the Christmas lights on the building.
