  1. They have started site work for the Embassy Suites hotel by the Marriott.
  2. From 1 to 6 steel girders in a matter of a few hours.
  3. It looks like the first piece of steel has been erected for the CHKD tower. If the frame of this tower is going to be all steel it should rise quickly.
  4. I am currently in Houston Texas on business. I made it a point to ride the Houston light rail system called the "Metro". This light rail system is similar to the one being planned for Norfolk. The light rail line in Houston is also a starter leg and the train design and track length is close to the renderings for the Norfolk Project. The light rail train in Houston runs from center city Houston to the large medical complex about 8 miles from downtown Houston. The system was clean, fast, and efficient. I hope the "Tide" will be as successful as light rail in Houston seems to be.
  5. I hope the church and the Navy works this little disagreement out. There is not too much construction activity going on in dtown NN and I think this will be a great addition to the dtown area.
  6. I was hoping for a major department store to occupy all of that space because it is prime real estate in the middle of downtown NorVa. At least a nice book store will be there.
  7. Here are two pics of the downtown Norfolk skyline as seen from Dick Price stadium on the campus of NSU.
  8. My last photos were kind of small. Hopefully the pic below is larger.
  9. Here are some shots of Trader Tower and the Cruise Ship Terminal from the Portsmouth side of the Elizabeth river. http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o214/sl...ortsOct0628.jpg http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o214/sl...ortsOct0627.jpg http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o214/sl...ortsOct0632.jpg
  10. Yes I do. You cannot see a full view of the Trader Tower but I have a small portion of it rising above the World Trade Center bldg.
  11. Picture taken on 18 Oct 06 from the Portsmouth side of the Elizabeth river.
