  1. Agreed. I was near the site last week and saw that is was boarded up. A Fairfield Inn isn’t that exciting but it’s better than the alternative. Hopefully because it will be part of chain there won’t be a quick turnover.
  2. Arkansas Money and Politics had a little more about the Lafayette Hotel project. https://armoneyandpolitics.com/hotel-lafayette-building/
  3. Who’s doing the redevelopment? That what be a great addition to Main St. Wonder if the Boyle Building redevelopment helped push this along?
  4. According to the Hilton website there is one Tempo open in New York City and two more in development in Nashville and Louisville so this a relatively new brand for them. Also, I wonder if it’s still going to be mixed use or is it going to be all hotel?
  5. Top Golf is scheduled to open December 22 according to Arkansas Business.
  6. The Flats at SoMa, the old VA hospital conversion, plans to open in summer 2024.
  7. I thought I read somewhere previously that the new ownership was going to update the lighting in each window so they could be lit like the old Christmas tree and other things. I guess we will see if that comes to fruition.
  8. Noticed that the 200 West sign is now atop the former Bank of America building.
  9. Arkansas Money and Politics is reporting on a new mixed use development called The Middle at Rodney Parham and Highway 10. https://armoneyandpolitics.com/west-little-rock-high-end-mixed-use/
  10. Arkansas Money and Politics has a great article on the redevelopment of Bank of America Plaza and the Regions Center. https://armoneyandpolitics.com/iconic-building-makeovers-a-key-to-downtown-lrs-next-chapter/
  11. Cannibal and Craft officially closed yesterday. According to KARK it’s the third spot to close in the district in the past year with the Library Kitchen and Charles’s Good Time Drinkery. What’s going on with the Rivermarket District? It’s interesting that some places can thrive down there and others can’t. Look at Willie D’s, Sticky’s Rock and Roll Chicken Shack, the Rev Room, Flying Saucer, Big Whiskey’s, Flying Fish, Cache, Dizzy’s and Duggan’s (I’m sure I have left out others) have been down there forever but these new guys can’t make it a year or two.
  12. It’s interesting that a city in central Arkansas is the fastest growing city in the state when it’s been a city in northwest Arkansas for several years.
  13. The NLR board approved the sell of the property to the developers for this project.
  14. It will be. Hopefully part of the plan is to move the pawnshop that’s next door to the property. It may also make the Wyndham invest in upgrades.
  15. The Little Rock Tech Park has started its phase two expansion at 421 Main St in the building they formerly housed the Arkansas Department of Education. The renovation of the building should be completed by spring next year.
