  1. Did I see on Wiki that TAP is going to Bradley? Any news on it?
  2. I heard that someone will build a casino in East Hartford at the old Showcase site. Living around the area growing up (Around the Sunset Ridge area), I think they should get well paying jobs in the town - NOT A CASINO!!!
  3. Interesting... a casino at Bradley International.
  4. I'm wondering if the new Eastern Airlines would fly into Bradley. I heard rumors that two other defunct airlines will come back too.
  5. Beerbeer, it would be nice to see Aer Lingus at Bradley. I hope it will be the first of many international airlines...(I would love to see Air Jamaica at Bradley, too along with Ryanair.)
  6. How is the commuter rail project doing? I just hope something will create a few more commuter rail for Hartford.
  7. Reason: I hope the NHL does come back. Whenever I wear my Whalers jersey to Lightning fans, I get comments on them. I believe Quebec and Hartford will have moved teams (I hope Carolina). 8. Yard Goat is a railroad term of a locomotive that switches cars in a freightyard. I like the name. Minor league teams are suppose to be kid friendly or family friendly.
  9. I hope soon, Bradley will get at least a flight to Jamaica and maybe to Poland. If the cricket hall of fame owners ever got serious and build a building (near the new baseball stadium) with a few pitches (fields) for tournaments maybe a few flights will help. I've read that next to Chicago and New York, they are more Polish in CT. I hope we'll see longer flights...
  10. mr2448 Posted Today, 03:29 PM QUOTE (JimSawhill @ Jan 8 2009, 03:14 PM) GHartford: The Amory line is the railline that goes from East Hartford up through South Windsor - you can see it from Rt 5 - through East Windsor to the Hazzardville section of Enfield. It crosses into Mass at East Longmeadow (near the old Milton-Bradley plant) and continues into Springfield. It was built by the Connecticut Central and then it was the New England Railroad and then the New Haven. Now the line is operated by the Connecticut Central to East Windsor Hill and by the Central New England to Enfield. The line from the state Line to Springfield is abandoned, but CENZ, MassDot and ConnDot are trying to return rail service and use it for frieght, and emergency passenger car movements (in case of derailments, etc). You can get a good view of the line as it crosses Route 140 in Somers. Some track is still down and it looked like it use to be double tracked here. Mr2448: I believe it was double track there as it was the site of the Hazzardville depot. I would love to see commuter service on it!!

  12. I hope they'll use the Connecticut Southern line for the Passenger service between Hartford and Manchester. They still need to rebuild the midland route.
  13. I hope the busway will be scrapped. I'd still like to see trains going to Willimantic and beyond and I'd love to see if the rumor of the Amory line being rebuilt is true!!
  14. What I'd like to see is someone like RyanAir come to BDL along with JetBlue. I wonder what happened to that guy who proposed a BDL to London flight.
