  1. it least it isn't blue anymore...
  2. Its a really nice photo zissou... worth the climb I'd say! As you say, the lighting is outstanding!
  3. whoa, someone on top of the comerica building ;-)! I have that exact same view from 2000... I am trying like hell to find it! not a whole lot has changed unfortunatly...
  4. L, Please report any sweet city council outbursts... lansing may have similar zoo problems, but I bet they'd be hard pressed to match the all-star team at the Coleman A Young Municipal Center! The county partnership sounds quite promising. Speaking with one of the transportation planners for tri-county, I was really surprised to hear how strong the region favors smart growth and an improved transit system. Oddly enough, it seems that Detroit (area) is one of the few cities in the state that isn't leaning that way.
  5. L, you seem to be pretty "in" with the detroit rumor streams, have you heard anything in respect to the possible development at Woodward and the Fisher as mentioned on detroit.com? The small nugget they dropped over there is very enticing...
  6. top notch as always, michi!
  7. The Cliff Bells Bar project... there is some impressive work under that wood, I'll tell you that much. Looking forward to this place. Park Avenue is becoming a very fun place to visit on weekends, we were at the Town Pump for our usual Friday night routine and as always, it did not disappoint!
  8. yeah, right when i took that pic I was like "damn it CVS, way to ruin the shot!"
  9. I think they should take a look at Conseco Fieldhouse or look to the old Olympia for some inspiration (partial overhangs of decks, etc)...
  10. Thanks for the response on the woodward properties. I have to think that given the lack of investment in the Joe as well as the extra income generated as a direct result of the salary cap that a new arena is not far off... The joe is a dump these days, half of the time the scoreboard is broken, the seats have holes in them, the place looks drab. With all of the new venues in town and the continued investmenst in the Palace, its no surprise that the wings may sell out every game, but only have a 75% full building.
  11. quick question to those who might know, what is the status of the land across woodward from the Crosswinds Brush Park project. Are there any plans for that land? I hope its not another Crosswinds...
  12. did i mention i got a new camera....
  13. that it is, sorry for not describing it more. I was pretty unimpressed, but it appears to be all structure concrete at this point so I will reserve judgement.
  14. yuck... less Guinness, more fitness...
  15. 1. Here is that new garage, its a parking garage, plus it was cold, so i didn't feel the need to walk down all the way to see it. It doesn't look too extravagant right now, but who knows. I applogize for this dumb click things, I capped out my flickr for the month.
  16. upon review of tapezord's last comment, tapezord is disapointed that tapezord did not continue third person dialogue thoroughout the post. This will not happen again. Sorry forum!
  17. tapezord agrees with what zissou says... I'll check it out with my new camera tomorrow after the TRU meeting
  18. Here's another shot from the St. Patrick's Day parade.... Streetcar rails in Michigan Avenue... and my shoe.
  19. I knew this wasn't far away, but IN FREAKIN CREDIBLE Your Move, Google!
  20. It was a blast, we marched in the parade and went to a few bars, nothing quite like walking down the centerline of Michigan Avenue while drinking a beer (gotta love detroit). Plus, the weather was awesome!
  21. this thread is getting a little stale... here is a shot from today's St. Patrick's Day parade... the crowd out today was much bigger than usual!
  22. wow... every now and then I see a word that just loses total meaning as you look at the individual letters... help is one of them... help. help. help. odd word. Those are some HORRIBLE sounding rails by the way... yikes!
