  1. Rush/Aura's space is now open as "The Pourch" and "The Bassment." Geddit?
  2. Anyone else notice the Cupcake Shoppe is open on Glenwood? It's rather good!
  3. Driving over the Boylan Ave bridge (near Bloomsbury) yesterday around six there were a couple dozen photogs taking pics of our skyline. It was quite interesting to see.
  4. Cherry is great if you're in the mood to pay 25 grand for a sofa. The space is in an amazing location and is prime real estate. Hopefully someone puts something exciting in there. (A Red Hot and Blue doesn't count. )
  5. 1. A true pool hall would be nice. 2. A "real/dedicated" Karaoke bar. Cody's doesn't count.
  6. Zely and Ritz is one of the best restaurants I've ever been to, anywhere.
  7. Folks, really, do we want Cary Town Center downtown? I'll take a place like Lilly's any day of the week over a mall chain.
  8. Sweet! More stuff that'll rock... In 5 years.
  9. When I was at Artsplosure one of those guys was there handing out propaganda to "save the park." Save it from WHAT? That's a ton of prime space to make it ALL a park. I think the mixed use plan looks fantastic. What kind of commercial space would be in there? We talking indy businesses or Jamba Juice?
  10. A friend of mine is renting over at the Dawson and we've hung out at his place a lot. It's a 2 bedroom condo with a view of The Saucer and The Clarion/Second Empire. It's not a BAD view but it's not quite the Downtown Skyline. The layout is just weird. It's 2bdr 2bath but the 2nd bedroom is entirely enclosed - no window views. It's kind of like a tomb in the 2nd bedroom. High ceilings, nice hardwoods, balcony... but again, the balcony is off of the master... so if you want to hang out with friends you have to go through the master. Personally I think it makes more sense to have balconies in communal areas if you have friends over and what not.
