  1. The Atlanta Biz Chronicle reported today that John Wieland has postponed the development of One Museum Place until the market looks better. Dammit! Since there are so many condos built and going up, they are being smart by not adding to the supply, but I was really looking forward to this building...
  2. Although I do like the original rendering that was posted better, I really appreciate that there's not a hulking parking deck hanging off the rear. I'm sure Ansley Park residents do, too
  3. Driving down Peachtree in Midtown today and noticed that the one story historic strip near 10th Street (where the Indian restaurant was) looks to be facing demolition. Will 12th and Midtown go down this far?
  4. I agree with you martinman. I think this is going to be an elegant and appropriate neighbor to the High complex. If it was just another glass condo tower I think I would pull my hair out lol.
  5. Where will this be located? It's pretty good...
  6. Yes, historic office buildings have lended themselves well to residential use. My point was that some parts of downtown are brutally unurban and will take a greater effort to retool into an inviting environment.
  7. Thanks for the jerk comment. Maybe I should have phrased that to say "healthiest" urban environment. Downtown is too scarred from misguided developments for it to ever overcome Midtown as a true mixed use community.
  8. Has anybody heard of any retailers rumored to be locating on the Midtown Mile? With Atlantic Station, Lenox and Phipps, and now The Streets of Buckhead, what's left for the city's most authentic urban district?
  9. East Village? Guess you have to be from Atlanta to know about that one...
  10. Here's a rendering of the remodeled 999 Peachtree St at Peachtree and 10th. I love that 10th Street will be getting more retail and a better street wall. Structure fronting Peachtree doesn't look that great, a little cheap in my opinion http://www.greenbergfarrow.com/Experience/...l&sub=Urban
  11. Every example of non-mall retail gets me excited. Lenox and Phipps are nice, but you wouldn't put them on a postcard. Real cities have street life, and I'm glad to see Atlanta has realized that.
