Ruined a perfectly good surface parking lot. Bah.
I mean, who are you angry at? The lot owners who weren't willing to wait just a few more decades for another offer? The purchasers who worked out that the most profitable option given the cost of the land and the money they had to invest was an 11-story apartment?

Whereas phase 1 looks like it didn't try at all.

Should have made them add ground floor retail and make it 11-stories. Would have been much better.
There are three types of people in this world: those that can count and those that can't.

It's behind City View.

It certainly wont make for an attractive view for those residents of Radius facing west on the lower floors.
You have to start somewhere.
When Sky House was built, the neighbors along Rosalind/Magnolia were: to the south another parking garage, to the north the backside of the courthouse (which all together is an attractive building); to the east a concrete slab fronting a parking garage, and to the north east a rundown roach trap (Travel Lodge). So at the time it made sense for Sky House to put its backside to the street.
Now let's hope someone follows Radius' lead and builds something nice on the block to the south.

... They are not shutting down current work and if they are bidding upcoming work with great finance and real projects/plans, I would expect they would get great numbers currently from subcontractors.
It also seems like a great time to take out a low interest loan, if you can get one.

And we're off. Parcel U has rebar cages for columns coming out of the ground.

But another way to look at it is a 5% cost overrun on I-4 vs 577% cost overrun on Boston's Big Dig. In those terms we are making out like bandits. I mean, good gawd, who ever heard of a cost overrun of only 5% on a government contract? Jeez, some perspective here.

They come with two layers with a metal braces inside to keep them separate. There is pre-installed plumbing between the layers. The same system was used on Lake House at Ivanhoe.

Is the red line above the edge of phase 2 or phase 3?

I'm not ready to write of Livingston retail just yet. Radius = 389 units, X-Orlando phase I = 262 units, 11 story Orange & Robinson = 368 units, Parcel U = 250 units min. Julian = 400 units. That's 1,669 units or about 2,500 people ... plus 600 bed Union West, commuter students, courthouse and future EA Sports employees, and the peeps staying at Marriott and the new Hampton Inn.
Then add x Orlando phase 2 = 266
I'm not worried about the retail ... It will come chasing those numbers. Boom!

It was my understanding that the road will be the entrances to the Golden Sparrow garages and will pass through/under and be the entrances to existing apartments. But you're right, it does not form the back edge to Golden Sparrow.

A/C units in their boxes.

This is the practice facility behind CityView and not the full MEC, right?

Did I miss something? I noticed the construction fence around x-Orlando. How long has that been up?

I'm confused. The money to upgrade the stadium comes from the tourist tax, The purpose is to attract tourist. We discover the people going to the games are tourist, staying in tourist district. And this is controversial, why ...????
