Coral Gate Apartments, 6990 NW 186th St., is being converted into condos.

Coral Gate Realty Limited Partnership paid $63 million for the 768 rental units and plans to spend about $8 million renovating the project.

The Coral Gate project, constructed in 1977, is composed of five buildings with a gated entry on 22 acres. Condo prices will range from $63,900 to $187,000.

The project includes two pools, three tennis courts and a skating area.

TWO CONDO TOWERS

The city of Sunrise is going high-rise with Weitzer Communities' condominium TAO, two 26-story towers with 396 residences near Sawgrass Mills Mall.

On a 36-acre lake, TAO will feature a sand beach, tropical landscaping, tennis courts, putting green, pool area with spa and a children's playground.

One-, two- and three-bedroom floor plans ranging from 967 to 1,973 square feet and are priced from the $270,000s to the $500,000s.

Great post,... very detailed.

These builders love to build 40 and 50 story buildings.They should go for 70 or 80 stories.

Your right, instead of building two 40 story phased condos,.. they should just go ahead and build one 80 story tower.
