I'm really ready to see some more modern architecture in downtown St. Pete, but I'll take this. Based on the website, with 70% of the units already reserved, this project should definately be built. It's in a good location, on 8th Street and 4th Avenue S, next to I-175. www.orioncondos.com

Now if only the owners of Webb Plaza would redevelop their center into an urban, mixed-use center instead of a suburban strip mall...really that whole area has a lot of potential. I can see several projects this scale being built from Tropicana Field to 4th Street. I can imagine a large district anchored by a huge dining/entertainment complex on the Tropicana Field poperty to the West, a redeveloped Web Plaza in the center and University Village to the East.

As I said elsewhere, not fully sold on the design, though I note there is a pedestrian aspect to it, so that is ok. The neighborhood also needs some work.

There are a lot of smaller townhome developments being built that are beginning to transform that area. This would be the largest project in that area to date.

I wonder if it's dead. Although, that would be odd considering they had a good number of reservations. Maybe buyers pulled out and went with other developments.
