New Orleans has sections that function as a "great city." Areas like (of course) the French Quarter and Uptown. New Orleans historically was a city long before Houston. And long before automobiles destroyed the true meaning of a city. Houston doesn't really have any areas like that. I'm not dogging on the place at all. In my mind, a city is New York, Providence, Miami, etc, but Houston rather functions as one INCREDIBLY LARGE suburb. Its very auto-centric. Nothing really denotes whether you are in a "city" or not. That's all my point is.
