Ohhh, I bet it's gonna look really nice downtown after this is all done. It's nice to hear about all these things goin on in the city.

As part of the city's facade improvement program, a 1960s brick veneer is being stripped away from the building where the downtown Cuco's restaurant is located at 31 Court Square. I was in Cuco's for lunch a few days ago and heard the manager tell another customer that the renovations will include residential units above Cuco's and on both levels of the left side.

Work is continuing on the renovations at the Cuco's site.

The exterior work is pretty much done on the Court St. building. Apparently the building owner is going to move his family into the residential portion.

On the city's website I found some other projects that used facade improvement program funding. Byron Berry is renovating the three S. Perry St. buildings in the rendering below. The facade work is pretty much done on the middle building.

The Montgomery Fair project, which should be finished soon, took advantage of facade improvement funding as well. Before and after...

Signage is back in place at the Cuco's location.

^That's good to know. Just get some tenants and attractive signage and we'll be ready to roll.

^ Absolutely. Surely there's a plan for attractive signage on the Montgomery Fair building, and the one sign that's there is just temporary until the other two commercial bays are built out. We hope that's the case (fingers crossed).
