Another large development has been approved for an area west of KCI Airport, it will be 800 acres and have about 1,500 housing units. Along with commercial development etc...

It will be located in Platte County, north of Wyandotte county Kansas and west of Clay county Missouri.

It will be called Seven Bridges and will be developed by David and John Barth.

They expect home construction to start within a year, but they say it could take 30 to 40 years to complete the whole project.

A recent housing project in Clay County, Shoal Creek Valley is building over 950 units about 5 miles east southeast of KCI Airport and about 3-4 miles north of North Kansas City (a seperate city from KCMO). It will be completed in 2005 or 2006. (it's been u/c since 2001 or 2002)

With this new project, it adds more momentum for KCMO to reach 500,000 people by 2010. Since 950 units are in Shoal Creek, and 1,500 units are planned for this project, and city hall wants 13,000 to 16,000 units built in the urban core by 2010.
