Gary/Chicago International Airport gaining new space and clients

Gary/Chicago International Airport tenant Jet Center is breaking ground on a 5-million dollar phase two expansion of its facilities. The new space will encompass over 38,700 sq/ft of maintenance and hangar space for corporate level jets used in international business.

Airport officials believe this is a sign of Gary/International airport growing into its own with the help of its competative cost advantage compared to other regional airports.

So is this a sign that Gary/Chicago International Airport is overcoming any regional apprehension businesses and individuals might have about using the facility as an alternative to the other major airports located in Chicago?
