Nevada-California MAGLEV Project

California-Nevada Interstate Maglev project is proposing the construction of a 269-mile Maglev train line from Las Vegas, Nevada to Anaheim, California. $45 million was recieved for planning of the first 40 miles between Primm and Las Vegas. The proposed cost for the 40 mile line will be around $1.3 billion far less the the proposed Pittsburgh or Baltimore line of $3.7 billion.

Congress is looking over its new transportation bill now. The Senate just passed its own version last week, a $295 billion package. Of that, more than $3 billion has been authorized for maglev construction

Primm, Nevada

Barstow, California

Victorville, California

Ontario, California

Anaheim, California

Los Angeles, California

That would be so cool. The way gas prices are here in the west I know I would use it. Nothing like taking the family on a weekend trip to LA without spending 200 dollars on gas. Our country is so behind when it comes to high speed transit. We are way to arrogant of a society to embrace things like this. The almighty automobile will have to soon take a back seat if we are to sevre ties to Middle east oil.
