Why are certain forum topics changed to "link"?

Is this done to limit access to certain non-premium members?

These topics were built by many members and now they cannot even view them??

Can someone explain or I am missing anything?

I'm guessing because the subject of the thread is more appropriate in a different section of the forum. i.e. the coffee house instead of here. Its not to limit access.

I believe once you have 100 posts you will have access to the coffeehouse, so it shouldn't be a problem at all after that.

Yes that is correct.

The staff here will move an off-topic topic, such as this one, to a location that is more appropriate or may simply move it to the trash. They may also choose to leave a link in the original section but that is optional. We do this to keep the forum from getting cluttered with items that are not relevant to what we are trying to accomplish.

If something gets moved to the coffee house forum then it was because there was no other good place for it. As noted you have to have members+ rank or higher to see that forum. There is an information section here on UrbanPlanet where these kinds of questions should be asked and where there are answers to other questions about the forum. Please also try to use the search function. There are several different ones one the site.
