Loop 245 renamed Hickerson Freeway

Loop 245 has been officially named the Hickerson Freeway. It is being named in honor of Prissy Hickerson whose spent 10 years with the Arkansas Highway Commission. As she leaves dirt work for a 1 1/2 mile section from 245 to I-30 will begin for 34.9 million dollars. Grading and structure work is expected to begin in the spring on a 5 mile stretch between I-30 and U.S. Highway 71 North. All I can say about the construction is that I'm glad this is moving forward. Now the section between here and Ft. Smith needs to get on the fast track.
