actually, Pop City screwed this up a bit... Wired magazine picked the Top 10 Tech Towns... but did not rank them... (I read the article in the magazine)... if you look at the list on the wired website (link provided by Pop City)... you'll notice that the cities are listed from West to East... the first 3 cities listed are on the West Coast... then there's Austin... then there's a couple cities in the South and then 4 Northeastern cities... the Wired article is really quite silly... borderline fluff... but at least it's nice for PGH to be recognized for its technological savvy amongst this elite group... it chips away at that giant boulder of "outdated steel perception"
