BAY CITY - one of Michigan's Tri-Cities. The other two are Saginaw and Midland. Midland makes an abbreviated appearance at the end of this thread.

Lots of downtown loft conversions in progress. This one on the riverfront was one of the firsts.

The Saginaw River, Michigan's widest inland river, flows about another 2 miles into the Saginaw Bay, where Bay City (and County) gets its name from. The bay forms Michigan's Thumb.

The draw bridges allow large, Great Lakes ships 13 miles inland to the city of Saginaw, making it a Great Lakes Port City.

In addition to downtown, Bay City has one other great historic district called Midland Street on the west side of the Saginaw River.

No, my previous one did. I got it back, but it was owned by the insurance company when it was found, so it technically wasn't my car anymore. Right now, I drive a turd with an engine. It's not bad, but for the time being, parking in an open lot in Detroit, I really prefer less of a car. Especially since I rarely ever drive.

So far, I've had good fortune. No break ins and no thefts. Knock on woods.

It was found at the MLK Apartment complex between Larned and Lafayette near Chene/Mt. Elliott (going toward Belle Isle). Supposedly, it had been sitting there for months, the residents suspected it was a stolen car, and eventually the towing company contracted by the complex went into the glove box and contected my dad (on the insurance records).

It was hard to locate because there are a bunch of individual lots off the street. Nothing was stolen from it and I had a lot of junk in the trunk. Needless to say, I felt awkward standing in the middle of this complex emptying the contents from one car to the other with all these people staring at me. Then, the tow truck came, hooked her up and drove her off into the sunset as I followed from behind one last time.

Silly thing is is that on the console, I found 2 prescription pill bottles with names and addresses from Farmington Hills. DUMB! The theives actually left MORE in the car and took nothing out (except for the damage done to the steering column). Of course Detroit Police did nothing to address it. That's our Detroit Police.

One simple word of advice...never leave a dime, penny, or pebble in your car when parked in Detroit.

That's my story. Sad, but true. :)

Well, at any rate, it took nearly 3 hours to file the police report. Mainly due to the fact that the cop typing it up, pecked at the keyboard and messed up after like a half hour, so he laughed and had to start all over again. That's right, he laughed. I wasn't impressed. [/uGGG!]
