If you don't mind, I would like to include a few pictures that I took during my recent visit to the Gulf Coast during the week of June 3-10 2006. I was there with my church re-roofing a home that was totally flooded out in Pass Christian a few blocks from the ocean around the railroad tracks.

This will be part 1

This was a gas station

I seen this shot above, but I wanted to place a picture on here myself. I bought some things at this store in March of 2005 while visiting the Gulf Coast, but when I came back in June of 2006 they weew seem to have decided to close

Dang !

I had heard from a friend whose sister lives in Pass Christian (who has been living in an RV for the last year) that things were still in awful shape, but all these photos really show the devastation up close and personal.

Having relatives in Mobile, I've seen the results of bad hurricanes before, but it's unusual to see an area where the problems are still so bad a year later.

  • 1 month later...

The US govt. is spending about 2 billion dollars a day in Iraq, that is the reason the is little money to help the people on the Gulf Coast.

I see US roads down there, with no repair in one year. It is a shame

we can not have money to help our own country. Think what 2 billion dollars a day would do for the USA.
