This comes as no surprise. They were trying to sell off the natural gas part of the business, so I'm guessing this was the next best thing.

Its funny, the natural gas company they bought in the late 90's based out of Houston...is being spun off as a natural gas company based out of..Houston! Zero sum.

Not for the shareholders though. This will unlock a ton of cash and give a nice smile to the guy who owns the shares.
