In some areas of the U.S., there are places dedicated to the public for relaxation, socializing, recreation, and even sight-seeing. Are there any non-commercial public squares, plazas, fountains, or waterfront areas in your town or city? If so, what are there names, and where are they located? Also, do you frequently visit these places? Please post any pictures of your town's or city's public plazas or areas.

Downtown Shreveport - Riverfront Park! I love that place, and I have quite a few photos of it. I'll try to post some of my pictures tomorrow. It's a park on the edge of downtown at the riverfront with a waterfall, sitting areas, lighted fountains that dance to music for children to play in, an amphitheater, and a botanical garden/museum. This area ties the riverfront in really well with the CBD/lower downtown areas, the Red River District, the casino district, and the Fetsival Plaza. All these areas converge at this one park making for quite a synergy at certain times.
