Two developers have filed plans to build a 500,000-square-foot project with retail, commercial and office space, a hotel and a conference center in Chamblee, about a half-mile from the Chamblee MARTA station.

PDK Investments, a joint venture between Charles K. Schmandt of Archetype Management Co. and Peter Chang of Atlanta Chinatown Investments, filed the plans Friday. International Village at Chamblee would occupy 14 buildings, including restaurants, a public market and specialty shops, said Schmandt, who is also the architect for the project.

The 32-acre development in north DeKalb County would be on Catalina Drive between Chamblee Tucker and Chamblee Dunwoody roads. The developers plan to buy 21.7 acres from the county. Construction could start this fall, Schmandt said.
