You went to Overton? That's cool. I've been there. I like that place.

When did you go to Overton? It must have been recently, because Centennial hasn't been around that long.

Yes, you're right, it is going down hill, but it has some great programs. I'll be graduating Centennial in 2009.

i agree, some of the programs are pretty cool. i was in the marching band there and we got to do a lot of fun things . they also have an afterschool program for kids there where they bring in an architect and go teach the kids the "business". my dad got to teach the program there for several years after doing it at mlk.

They have an incredible band. I went into their band room, and there were hundreds, literally hundreds, of trophies. It was amazing.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

yeah, the band room is kind of overwhelming when you first walk in. they've always had an excellent tradition in music at overton. wish the same could be said for football and soccer :P .

I used to play tennis at Godby.

I like their pedestrian bridge connecting the school to the practice football fields.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Yea we call the other side where the other practice fields are located, Godby West. I have not yet set foot on the soil there, I am going to have to do that before I graduate.

When I was in High School I went to.....

Name: RJ Reynolds' High School

City: Winston-Salem,NC

Area served: A particular portion of W-S (zone)

Enrollment: 2,500+

Grades: 9-12

Founded: Early 1923

Type: Public

Mascot: The Demon

Has a website but don't know it.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I doubt Reynolds has ever approached 2500 plus, according to their website the enrollment is slightly under 1700. It was around 1500-1600 when I went there. Just out of curiousity, did you know it was air conditioned when it was originally opened in 1923. Also, have you ever been in the catacombs down to the physical plant and over to Wiley Middle school. Ah the times skipping class down there and smoking wee... er, cigarettes! Also, when I was there, one section of the 4th floor was closed off, that was also a skipping spot but you got busted there more often.

Where I go to school there is 3 normal sized high schools near eachother and people walk inbetween them for classes, so everyone has a home school and you go between the three for all your classes. There is a total of around 5,000 kids. So when I have new classes sometimes I won't know a single person in any of my classes. The individual schools are Canton, Plymouth and Salem.
