It is being billed as "Friday Night Lights" put to reality TV, and unlike going to 2nd tier Texas for their HS Football fix they are coming to HS Football's true home (well at least to some of us ;) ).

The show will feature Dick Butkus as the assistant coach to a first year HS coach and leading a real life team of players from the 6 year slumping Montour HS Spartans in the western suburbs of Pittsburgh. The whole town is "going hollywood", and big things are planned for this Reality show, ESPN is going to air it and make it a centerpiece program.

Nice to know that Hollywood is finally getting over its Texas, Florida fix for smalltown football, and coming home to where you could see Johnny U., Dan Marino, Joe Montana, Curtis Martin, Ty Law, Jim Kelly, Joe Namath, Jeff Hostetler, Kevan Barlow, Bill Cowher, Marty Schottenhiemer, Tony Dorsett, Mike Ditka, and a host of others for a buck on a Friday night!

I don't know, this might just cement in people's minds the notion that Pittsburgh is obsessed with football. Then again, most of the people watching the show will be football fans themselves...
