Mass Transit Alternatives

At first it may seem difficult to convince people to ride one of the other proposed transit systems. Especially in an area like Grand Rapids that is very spread out and most everyone relies on their automobile for transportation. But as the price of gasoline continues to rise our nation will need to switch over to a system of more public transportation. The quicker GR does this the better off it will be in the long run. We keep pouring money into widening our highways which is the right thing to do for the next 10 years or so, but after that we may start to find outselves in trouble. The sooner we start the quicker people will catch onto and accept alternate forms of transportation.

I fully support the proposed system and hope we see it in the next few years.
