My wife and I are planning a trip out here in the summer.  I've been looking around at the DT Roanoke, and regional Roanoke Valley websites as well as random Google searches.  So, I think I know what's popular for what to do and where to stay.

But, I'd like to hear what locals or anyone who's vacationed in the area about where to go, what to do, etc.
