From what I have read, most of this project especially phase I is going to be elevated. With something like 20 bridges or so and very few on and off ramps, I see little commercial development in this area just the planned residential neighborhoods. The interchange plans for US 441 and the existing Maitland Blvd look to flow very well. This going to be a very welcomed road when everything is done.

Project Description- South of OBT to South of Ivanhoe Blvd, Design- FY 2003/2012, Right of Way- through FY 2014, Construction- begins FY 2016 The Interchange I'm guessing it setting up for the future projects.

Just a few more weeks and they should have the last lift of asphalt done on the 408 JYP area. Then all of the west side to the Turnpike will be done. It looks so much better.

Did you all hear that the OOCEA is scaling back their 5-year plan, because of low funding for all the projects? The ones I heard that are getting cut are: SR 417/Turnpike Interchange, SR 414 Apopka Bypass north of SR 429 to US 441, adding lanes to SR 408 around the Goldenrod area, and there are a few more. Some of these are a huge blow for traffic in the Orlando area.

The alarms were going off the other night also and I was thinking the same thing.

I dont think they will ever take down the tolls on the 408 and 417. To widen the 408 alone between Tampa Ave and Hiawassee and put up a whole new toll plaza is about $73 million. Also the tolls at the mainline plazas on the 429 are already at $1 and that thing is still not finish on the south end.

Correct me if I am wrong. But, I think the Lake Nona Interchange on SR 417 was paid for by the developer.

I like the view when I am on the 408 westbound just before Mills Ave. The buildings look sooo much bigger. Even City Hall.
