since no one has posted since april..i feel its my duty to find out where people have eaten lately! has anyone been to hamburger marys that opened up on church street? i attempted to go on day 1, since i work nearby and they stopped accepting customers b/c they were too busy ... and wanted to assure great service to the current customers and not compromise future customers...i have yet to return yet...so what say UP'ers!
Ate there once. BURGER was good!! also had a couple of my friends go back a couple times. Good things to say.

I have to agree. I do not like that at all.

There is always going to be somebody that does not like it. I am also living in the building and can tell you that i have no complaints. With my lifestyle i prerfer to be in a condo and not a house. I moved from a house and have found that even with the association my expenses are a lot less now. I have been in and sold, multimillion dollar condo's in Miami and West Palm Beach and can tell you that The Vue holds its own.
P.S. I run into quite a few people on a daily basis around the building and have yet to hear anyone say they are unhappy with their move.

I totaly agree! That's what upsets me the most whenever I hear talk about real estate, it is spoken in the conext of an investment when it is actually a place to live. I enjoy living at the Solaire, but the one thing I can't help but notice is how empty it is. At any given night most of the windows are black and I rarely see the same people on a daily basis. At times the building feels almost dead, like there's no life.

I agree with you and that is for some of us we have bought into the Downtown Lifestyle more as a place to live then an investment. Of course, longterm wise i am sure it will be a nice property to have and keep in your portofolio.
As for it being dark, as a real estate agent i am in and out of several Suburb communities and i can tell you that it is not any different outhere. Single family homes/townhomes are sitting dark and neglected. It is happening just about everywhere. The plus side for us is that we dont have to deal with the overgrown yards, or just homeless people living in those homes while the banks take their sweet time foreclosing. Another plus, is that since i moved downtown i am saving over $350 bucks in Gas, Tolls, Utilities, Gym Membership/month. This after paying my association. And to those that will say that my association fees will go up, so will your HOA.
The thing with condo's is that everybody can see it and it has amore of a visual effect. I tell those people that like to talk bad about downtown to go look in their own neighborhoods. Take a walk (yes i know this may be tough for some of you suburbanites and see how many of the homes around you are sitting empty!

Yep, the sunsets are awesome. We got a nice Vue! You all moved in to your unit?
-
I don't think the west side view or I4 is ugly, there are very few obstructions and one can see the Disney fireworks!
I agree i got a West view here in the Vue and i like seeing the buildings and i can see the disney fireworks from my bed. As far as the sun, thats what window treatments are for The sunsets are also very cool!

It was furnished, the media/movie room and the refrigerators were working on the night of the Grand Opening last week. I don't know if the internet connection was working, though, as I don't live there.
The Cyber Cafe is ready, there are no plans to actually have somebody there at all times. It is pretty much a lounge. Pretty sweet actually.

I have no idea how to start a new entry in this forum so I'm replying to this one. Inside pics from 17 C2 3 bedroom taken today. I close next Monday - God willing and the creek (Indians) don't rise.
Great Photos and congratulations, When do you move in? I am on the 23rd but have yet to receive a closing date.

Looks like Universal Studios.
I think it might be Sea World

I am looking forward to the Saloon opening up. I haven't been to Cowboys in a while but that place seems to always get packed, I imagine the same thing would happen here.

If he tries to do that i hope the Orlando Sentinel, along with all the other media call him out on it. Better be all or nothing.
-
nyone think he can really block this thing?
NO! He can only change the way these deals are done in the future and I hope we get to vote next time he wants something for his convention center or IDrive.

It is the Sentinel, and remember to the media things are either HOT or COLD no in between. In the end it is all a cycle, and yes the people that got in for the quick and easy are going to be hurt, but the long time residents that will see this growth through will be compensated handsomely. That is my believe.

On the northeast corner of this building you will notice that there is a lightpost that is about a foot away from the building. This will surely be an annoyance to the person living in that particular unit. Does anyone know if the city plans on taking it down? or what the Developer is planning on doing about this?
