  1. With that being said (what I said above) here are photos of the day from me for east TN (since I have not posted in awhile)- from my front lawn... here are some before / after photos during that frigid weekend.... notice the severe damage to the tree foliage.... BEFORE - these were around April 5th (and earlier)...... AFTER - these were April 8th and as late as April 11th..... Severe damage.... Even my Camellia looks to be perishing! The leaves are darkening!
  2. Yes, that is an excellent photo. Was that photo taken on April 7? I remember that day here was extremely cold and well below average.... it was only like 40
  3. Its been awhile..... to update, the new Sams Club is about complete in Johnson City. It is a very grand and clean looking store (fresh design) as opposed to the OLD building @ the airport exit of I-81 location. The one in Bristol is also well underway. The "skeleton" is up and it is supposed to be complete by June.
  4. I love it! Thanks for posting those of Greenville Co., SC and the ones of New Orleans. Keep them coming!
  5. Andrew Jackson State Park - South Carolina (late Sept 2006) Tried to remove duplicate attachment. --KB I removed it... thanks for trying!
  6. Same here.... we had a steady moderate to occasionally heavy rain all day long, with temperatures only in the lower 40s.
  7. Stunning photos... Here is another from me.. This was taken here in south Bristol, TN a few weeks ago after a rain storm.....
  8. I love it! Please keep posting those downtown Columbia photos!
  9. Thanks. Yes, the covered bridge is a neat little bridge.... here are some photos I took last May (2006). We normally always go down to the local classic car cruise-in on Saturday nights in old downtown Elizabethton, but on this nice evening, we took a stroll through the old part of town and the bridge....
  10. Some photos of downtown Elizabethton, TN (east of Johnson City / south of Bristol) These are along I-81 in Bristol, near the airport exit... taken in early April 2006...... Colonial Heights, TN: very early April 2006
  11. Well, to update, the bridge project in downtown Bristol is coming along nicely. Its going to be taller than I thought. I am hoping that there will be a good view of downtown from up there. We will have to wait and see. More condos are going up all over the area and more near the race track. I am going to try to get some updated photographs soon of all of these projects. Still no word on the downtown parking garage. Its as if they have swept it under the rugs.
  12. I have not been to Roanoke in years, so these photos are a nice treat. Thanks for posting!
  13. Not sure if I posted this..... this is the sign on State St. in downtown Bristol TN-VA. One side of the sign is in TN and the other in VA. Here is looking up the street, down the road from the sign.... I think I may have posted these, but they were on the Tennessee forums. Another of the downtown skyline... not much, but nevertheless, its a skyline.
  14. Again, nothing grand, but here is another photo in the downtown Bristol area that I took in late April, close to where the new "super" bridge is going in... This is Ft. Shelby Tower on E. 5th St. In fact, I think the spot where I took the 2nd photo is right where the new bridge is being built. It is high, because it is going over the railroads.
  15. You bet. Here are a few more of that lot. I think these are the last that are worth posting..... This was taken outside of Charlotte Motor Speedway: This was taken going back north out of Charlotte: I think it was on I-77 north. I forget the name of this lake, but it was huge. Hard to get a good photo when driving 75 mph on the freeway. Another of downtown Charlotte: A young Southern Live Oak in southwest Charlotte- only 5 miles from the SC state line: On HWY 52, in South Carolina, just southeast of Charlotte: BTW- Nice bridge. I would like to drive across that. I bet the view there is amazing.
  16. Thanks. Here are a couple of more that I took at AJ state park in north central South Carolina..... nothing fancy, but it is the south. Here are more of Charlotte.....
  17. Another of Charlotte that I took in September
  18. Well, I heard again today that a 20-25 story tower was possible in Bristol. I wish they would make up their mind. I keep hearing that it is supposed to be a hotel. It would make sense though. They could easily make money, especially if they put it near downtown (which would be excellent, since it is between I-81 and BMS. Nearly 180,000 out of towners (race fans) go to the Bristol race TWO times a year and they have to lodge in areas as far out as 100-150 miles, which is crazy. There are not just that many hotels in the metro area. Well, they are several, but no really large ones. The largest ones are near Exit 7 and one is 5 and the other is 10 stories. There are a couple of others up there- around 5 stories. http://www.emporis.com/en/wm/bu/?id=holida...-bristol-va-usa http://www.emporis.com/en/wm/bu/?id=courty...-bristol-va-usa These are right off of exit 7 I-81. I am ready for a 20+ in downtown Bristol! HINT HINT! Before I am too old to enjoy seeing it.
  19. Thanks for those updated photos. That must be the building that I took ONE photo of when we was there in late September 06'.....
  20. Took these back in late September of 2006 in Lancaster, SC. This is just southeast of Charlotte. It is a very nice area.
  21. You bet. Here is another for today.... These were taken in Dollywood park (in Pigeon Forge, TN) in summer of 2006..... Most here may have been to Dollywood, as it is a popular theme park in the southeast, bur just incase no one has been here are a few of 60 photos I took on this trip..... This is a large area. Lastly, a photo I took on the freeway heading down there.....
