  1. Hello everyone......It's me from sunny South Florida again. I was wondering if someone could take picture of the Macy's name change at Southpark for me?
  2. Thats because they are owned by "The Cheescake Factory"..........Much better though.........the baked to order dessert is INCREDIBLE...especially the Strawberry Shortcake
  3. Hey everyone. I totally understand whar you all mean. I am just passing along what was told to me. Please dont kill the messenger. You all should seriously tell the "Grand Lux Cafe" to open in Charlotte. If your ever here in South Florida you have to stop by and check it out. It is located at Sawgrass Mills Mall. GREAT FOOD!
  4. Hello all. I thought I would pass along some bad news. A friend of mine that works at the Neiman Marcus here in Boca Raton with me ( I work at Bloomingdales) told me today that the opening of the new Neiman Marcus Charlotte has been pushed back till March. The reason she said is they have decided not to open teh location so close to the Holiday season. She said this may change, but as of now this is supposedly official.
  5. Greetings everyone. When I lived in Charlotte I worked at the Banana Republic. I also worked part time at the information room that was once located across from the old Eckerds store. You may remember that it was in the old J.Riggins store loaction. We had huge pictures up of renderings of the renovations and expansions. There were store names listed on the wall as well that the Mall owners at the time Hoped to bring to the mall. I enjoyed and learned a lot while working there. I was able to answer a lot of questions. One of the things that I was able to learn while working there was that it's not possible to expand Southpark to a secound floor. Mr.Henry faison himself told me that. He said that they had previously conducted numerous soil sample tests and concluded that the soil was unable to support that, etc. It was amazing to meet him. He seemed to be a very intellignet man with lots of ambition.I thought that you guys may find this intersesting. I will say that Sawgrass Mills was previously brought up, as well as restraunts are all the time. Am incredible resteraunt here at Sawgrass is The Grand Lux Cafe. It is owned by the Cheesecake Factory. They are beautiful locations. They are building a secound location at Town Center Mall in Boca Raton where I work at Bloomingdales. I think a Charlotte location would do exceptionally well. Check out there web site.
  6. Chanel is more than likely about to have cosmetics event, etc. in Belk in the evry new future. We do this at Bloomingdales a lot!
  7. Greetings everyone. I thought I woudl let you know that in 2007 Macys will beginto carry the full and Newly expanded Marta Stewart Colelction. It will be what many have come to expect from here.Bedding, kitchen, bath, even furniture. Of course the materil/thread counts, etc. will be improved to aim at a more upscale market than K Mart. Geeze.........I cant spell today...........LOL
  8. I did actually. LOL. It seems that people can't let go of the idea of a Bloomingdales opening there. I hope that this secound post will ease soem thoughts. LOL
  9. Greetings everyone. I thought I would post some information here to those who have been curious about a Bloomingdales opening in Charlotte. I myself used to live in Charlotte until 2 years ago. I now live in Palm Beach, Florida and work for Bloomingdales. We just completed a traning course in upsate NJ, and in New York City. After the training we were able to meet with executives. The question was asked 'What are the possibilites for expansion?" Thr response was pretty straight forward. After our new store opening in San Francisco later this summer/early fall , there have been NO ne stores planned and no loactions are even being considered. With the recent purchase of the MAY Co. , Federated INC. goal is to continue to work with these new stores. As I have said in the past, Charlotte will be considered a major market for teh Macy's brand. Hopefully you will finf this information helpful. Have a great day!
  10. Hi NCMIKE.......There are no plans to open any Bloomingdales in the Carolinas at this time. From what is being said within the compnay they plan to open just 3 within teh next two years. And as for how would you compare Bloomingdales with others stores such as Saks, Norstrom etc. ,Mall guy pretty much is correct.Bloomingdales liek to be in an area where the area has a little bit of trend to it. As you will find no Bloomingdales stores in Texas. We once had a store in Dallas and it closed very soon after its initial opening. Our newsest store in San Francisco will open later this year and will without doubt be a fabulous store. I work in the Boca Raton Bloomingdales. There are just a few Bloomingdales stores in Florida. There are 2 in Miami, Boca Raton, Palm Beach Gardens, and Orlando. There are no stores on the west coast such as Tampa. My location is a huge store compared to certain other stores. My store is larger than the Belk @ Southpark. We are considered an A store behind New York , and Short Hills. As for the Neiman Marcus that will open there in Charlotte later this year....It will be a very small store for a typick Neiman Marcus. Actually it will be the secound smallest in the Company behind Palm Beach. It will be a great store though. There is a Neimans at the mall that I work at...Town Center at Boca Raton. The manager from that store has actively tried to get me to come work there since its opening in November. From what I have heard from management it will be a nice location even though its size is much smaller. Oh one last thing, you were wondering what are some of the designers that we carry....it all depends really on store loaction. We carry names anywhere from, Diesel, Salvatore Farragamo, Gucci, Prada, Jean Paul Gautier, Burberry, Sonya Rikel, Dana Buchman, Jospeh Abboud, etc, etc, etc. The list continues. Check out the Bloomingdales web site. Also in closing expect to see Macys furniture locations opening in the future.Have a great day!!!!
  11. The Southaprk Macys shoudl be a great store. As I have said in th past Federated Inc. has said that the Charlotte market will be a major market. You shouls see some additional remodeling, etc. within the store to fit the Macys standards.T
  12. Federated Depaertment stores has decided to divest the Lord & Taylor stores. Wich means teh stores will either become a Macy's or close. If there is already a Hechts currently at that mall it will become a Macys so therefore the Lord & Taylor will close.
  13. Greetings everyone. I am originally from Charlotte and now live in South Florida. I have just been reading some the threads here and thought i woudl share some information with you. Bloomingdales will not be opening in Charlotte anytime soon. I see that a few of you seem to think so . This is incorrect unfortunately. I work for Bloomingdales and they have no current interest in the Charlotte market for a Bloomingdales location. I can report to you that although Bloomingdales will not be opening Macy's will be considered a major market for Macy's and for Federated Inc. As an employee of Fedreated and of Bloomingdales were in contstant communication of whats goin on within the company. As you probabaly alyeady knwo by know all of the Hechts will be changed over to Macy's.You can expect to see some great changes take place at all of the Charlotte locations. Especially at Southpark! For any currect Hechts employees, dont worry. The changes will be for the best for you and the Charlotte market! Please feel free to ask me any questions
